I guess a lot of pilots are going to football matches these days, with hardly anyone able to fly anywhere on holiday. Considerate of the PL and EFL to think about safe standing for them. All those hours in cramped aeroplane cockpits. Can't blame them for not wanting to sit down while they're at the footy.
Fuel crisis leads to more than 50 non-league matches being called off... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58712719 I do have some sympathy for motorists who genuinely feared running out of petrol. But none for those who were filling up cans with fuel, and a few idiotsd even trying to fill up plastic bags (So I heard anyway).
When the tankers do come out to replenish the pumps you'll get convoys of cars following them to the filling stations.
Was there actually anything concrete brought against Southall after he was moved on? Sandgaard bought the club from Nimer as I remember and used a big and expensive law firm to shunt all the ESI crewe to one side. But legally, I don't remember anything to stop any of those characters from moving back into the game and doing the same old stuff. The problem would appear to be that while they act legally in destroying clubs (Bury is the stand out) the EFL are essentially unable to do anything, and as a 25% stake may not be seen as a controlling interest, there is nothing to be done. It's disgraceful really, but you need Thomas Sandgaard level lawyers to block this sort of stuff, and a club like Rochdale probably have Joe Fag-Packet and Sons representing them.
A word of advice to any Geordie journalists who dare to criticise the new owners of Newcastle United; If you get an invitation to the Saudi Embassy, decline politely.
