Not Celtic related but Hibs have just made their 3rd signing. I notice Killie have also made two signings and ICT have signed up three new players, one of them an ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper. How can this be? I thought these clubs were going to go bust if NewCo didn't get into the SPL? It would seem someone forgot to tell the Chairmen of said clubs.
maybe they are applying the rangers method of payment no down payment and nothing in instalments. At least for the next few years it will be a level playing field for all.
Aberdeen have completed the signing of ex-Celtic winger Niall McGinn. Rangers have struck a deal with Ian Black, depending on which league they are in next season.
The Newco still can't register players until their license is granted, I think. Ian Black joining is dependant on the league they get in.
Newco don't have any embargos yet. They don't have a team either. Or registration to a league. Fan appeasal. Apparently on Newco Media, they're welcoming the news with open arms
The ****s hated him because he blootered Jelavic and they thought he was ****e. Not there's a chance he's signing for them he's a decent player who can do a job in midfield
The last line of this article tells its own story. South Korea winger Kim Bo-Kyung claims he has attracted interest from Cardiff and Celtic this summer. The Cerezo Osaka player is thought to have turned heads with two goals and two assists in his country's World Cup qualifiers against Qatar and Lebanon last month. Reports in the Korean media claim Kim's agency, Ivansports, has confirmed the winger is in talks with Cardiff over a potential move. The 22-year-old is keen on a European switch and says he is open to joining the Bluebirds or Scottish Premier League champions Celtic. Possible "Celtic and Cardiff City are possible destinations now," he is quoted as saying. "I don't mind that Cardiff are in the Championship. I have no experience in Europe so I can learn step-by-step. "I'd like to play in England or Germany. My agent and officials of Cerezo Osaka are working on my transfer." It has been reported Kim's agency recently turned down a €6 million (£4.7m) offer from Monaco for the winger
By DAVID FRIEL Published: 6 minutes ago LIVERPOOL are lining up a £7million swoop for Celtic star Ki Sung-Yueng. SunSport understands new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers, left, has the South Korean high on his wishlist of summer signing targets. But he faces a fight to land the Parkhead midfield star, with clubs across Europe showing interest in Ki. SunSport can reveal QPR, Rubin Kazan and Deportivo La Coruna are all keen to land the 23-year-old. There is also strong interest in Ki from Germany with several Bundesliga clubs monitoring his situation but Liverpool lead the way. Rodgers is on the hunt for midfielders to suit the passing style he wants his side to play. Ki’s age and ability make him a leading contender to team up with Kop and England skipper Steven Gerrard. QPR will not give up without a fight. Chairman Tony Fernandes said last night: “Ki is a very good player and we are very aware of him. “He is a player we will be watching and also monitoring closely.” Ki said last week he will wait until after the Olympics to decide his future. However, with a transfer battle heating up, Liverpool and QPR are likely to act much earlier. Hoops boss Neil Lennon is a big fan of Ki but with 18 months left on his contract, Celtic would make a huge profit on the player signed from FC Seoul for £2m in 2010. Lenny could reinvest the money — with Rosenborg’s Markus Henriksen already earmarked as a potential replacement for Ki.
If Celtic can get £6m+ for Ki, I think they would be silly to knock it back. £6m+ for Ki woudl help Lennon add a more quality to the squad and help keep debt down. Ki, for me, is not a first choice midfielder anyway. Ledley/Victor and Kayal are better players.
Sky Sports understands that Scottish Premier League champions Celtic have made an approach for West Brom forward Simon Cox. The Republic of Ireland international struggled to hold down a regular role at The Hawthorns last season and is understood to have grown increasingly frustrated at a lack of opportunities. The Baggies are under new management, with Steve Clarkehaving replaced Roy Hodgson at the helm, but Cox is still facing up to an uncertain future. Blackburn are already understood to have held talks with the 25-year-old striker, who formed part of Ireland's squad at Euro 2012. Rovers have added Leon Best and Nuno Gomes to their attacking ranks this summer, but are seeking further firepower. Celtic are, however, believed to have entered the chase for Cox's signature and have already sounded out a deal.
ffs, England is not the place to go to find cheap young players with potential - never mind 25 year olds who can't get a game. We've about 4 years of running away with the league, go poach some 18 year olds from Scandanavia or Eastern Europe and turn them into players.
**** signing anyone! Never been a better time to use the youths. Our youth systems have picked up trophy after trophy for years, time to find the right solution to making quality youth players successful first team players. Our failure here is embarrassing.
