Yeah most of the squad are average Champ players at best, pretty much bought a whole new starting XI in the first season/summer after the first season, a little tip which I use with the bigger signings to make my budget go further, is to offer £0 up front and the offer over 48 months. This lets you spend roughly 4 times your transfer budget, but is risky as if you do it regularly and don't qualify for the bigger tournaments and got money in you can go bankrupt.
Aha I remember those days! My tip is to start a career with man city its basically easy mode and then once your good enough try it with saints!
or barca as they are even easier. may not have the funds in the first season but you wouldn't want to buy anyone.
I'm struggling a bit atm, finished 11th last season, 2013/14, July now, have £25m available, but don't know who to spend it on, aiming for Europa at least, trouble is, I always spend a lot of time finding the newgens/good youngsters, but I don't have an out and out goalscorer, sold Billy Sharp last season for £4m, any ideas?
I might start again on there, I have not really had a go with Gillingham yet, Took Dartford up two leagues in two years now in the football league mid table, quiet good, did not want to start as Gills, so might start one with them or soton.
I'm just about to start the 15/16 season, having qualified for europa league 2nd year running. Not won anything yet mind, bar the championship at the 2nd attempt. My team is: Joe Lewis Bjorn Kopplin- Jack Hobbs- Federico Barros- Ryan Bertrand Matt Philllips- Cork- Joshua Guilavogui- Adem Ljajic Daniel Sturrige - Santos Subs: Alex smithies, Kyle Naughton, Martin Cerrutti, Schneiderlin, Miroslav Stoch, Bryan Rabello, Shane Long Its now very tough to find players to improve this as, without champs league to offer, anyone better than what I already have isn't interested. But yeah, £30m-odd transfer budgets seem to be standard for saints in the prem. You should be able to get out of the championship with just a few loan players-the likes of shola ameobi, cameron jerome, glen loovens & steven mouyokolo did the job for me. Be wary of buying anyone who isn't prem quality or when you inevitably get promoted, you'll be left with a load of players you can't shift as it's very tough to sell players!! Championship-era players I signed who can still cut it in the prem are joe lewis, bjorn kopplin, efrain juarez & craig dawson. If you're looking for a prem goalscorer you could do a lot worse than shane long- he bagged 30+ in my first season, becoming saints' record scorer for a single season. That lasted all of two weeks before sturridge overtook him! This santos kid I got in from gremio is immense. As ever with FM, best approach is to get in as many scouts with as good ability & potential judging ratings as possible & send them out to nations/regions and see which gems they uncover...
Nicola's given me £73m to spend from January! My record signing is £4.5m Just had Man United bid £29m for Alex Chamberlain, so he's off.
Signed Jordon Henderson from Liverpool for £14 million He's on a silly expensive contract but I think its a great buy !
Just stick scouts around the world looking for under 18 players, list them by potential and view values.
On one of the scouting options theres a drop down thing you can add saying the minimum pontential or ability you want your scouts to find.
