I'm sorry but there is no way you could of got Pogba and Fryers on frees in the first window without cheating, they are 2 of Utd's most highly rated youth players on the game and they wouldn't let them go for nothing.
They were transfer listed, they listed half of the reserves, they even listed Welbeck and Rafael, I have never cheated at the game, you just need to look at what is avaliable, I hope they do turn out well as in the past they haven't but that was before the update.

Well I have never seen that happen on any of my saves on this version, Pogba can sometimes be released after the first season, but thats only happened once or so and he usually ends up going for pretty big money. Fryers has quite often become a solid LB in the Prem, and again when they do sell him its for around 6/7 mil after a couple of seasons. What size database do you play with?
I play with a large database, does it depend on the database then and anyway I have never cheated at the game, I always keep my eyes open for the best players who are free and transfer listed. With Pogba and Fryers they were transfer listed at the price of 500k, but I made sure that I had to pay nothing by offering money in the future for them, in total I will pay 2 million for Pogba if he gets 50 goals, something I doubt he will do and 4 million for Fryers if he get 30 goals and plays 50 games and also 20 for his country so I should not be paying much.
So you didn't get them for free then, you are using clauses to get them. Admittedly clauses which you will probably never have to pay, but when you said free i thought you meant £0 up front and £0 overall. I personally would consider this cheating as you are abusing the transfer system in game, but its up to you how you want to play it, like I do every transfer over 48 months so I can spend significantly more than my budget, which some people have said is cheating.
The 48 month thing isn't cheating as such, it doesn't make the game very fun for longer term saves though
I don't see it as cheating as you paying for the player, I have to offer great clauses a lot of the time, well they were listed at 500k and I have put on clauses of much higher than that value, that is not cheating, you can look at it how you want anyway. I have to say I am happy with my start, 2 wins in 2 and 3 goals from Vossen now, could have been 4 if his last goal had not been ruled out, such a shame as he played so well. Only one problem is injuries, Cork has only just come back from injury as he had been out of pre season then he gets knock again, Sharp is out for 6 weeks aswell which is a shame as he works great in my team plans.
Yeah there also isnt really a downside to it aswell, I've never been in financial trouble from it really, and if you are a wealthy team like Saints it means you can spend like £100 million when you get promoted to the prem if you choose to
