Well actually Billy didn't score! (wish he had cos I had him to score in the prediction cup game) but he is captain of S. Utd and has scored 26 goals this season. RESPECT!
I'd really like Toon to miss out (sorry Brendy!) but sadly can't see that happening, espescially with Hudders losing today. Still think it will comfortably be Brighton & Newcastle to go up automatically.
Yeah, so do I. I meant it from the point of view that the 2-6th places close up a bit. As you say, Hudders lost today too. Course Brighton could win the Championship trophy now, which I'm sure they'd prefer.
Yeah sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there Agree btw, though I suspect a lot of fans of both teams aren't too fussed.
Well I can still get a little pissed off [only a little bit] that Saints were promoted up through the leagues only, when there were trophies to be won. One of things about Saints is that, besides a 3rd Division South trophy, an FA Cup, a JPT and a Texaco Cup [I think], that's it. Another 3rd Division trophy and the old League Championship pot would have been nice.
It would have been nice yes, but on the other hand I'm really not fussed in the slightest. Never crosses my mind until brought up. It's the trophy we should have won this year that I'll think about for years...
Yeah. Typical that the next League Cup Final will probably have VARs, when this one really needed it.
Pleased for Billy, you just know he's one of those guys who plays for the love of the game. Plus it's his club - even better.
Billy said recently that he wasn't give enough of a chance in the PL with Southampton. Can't argue with that. He was so valuable to us in our final push for promotion....he deserved a chance.
Billy Sharp named League 1 Player of the Season. Various awards given out, interestingly the 'Family Club of the Season was.................................... Millwall
Millwal have put in a lot of effort into various area's, they are doing a good job within their community. Fitness and diet with children has been especially good.
Yes, but he was so obviously not PL level. Or am I the only one who thought so, at the time, that it didn't really outrage me when he didn't get more than a couple of subs appearances.? Good player in the box, but that's all I thought he was. PL teams need 11 players. Not 10 +1. The leagues have several examples of opposition box players who can do little or nothing else. They almost never make it in the PL. Anybody got a video of Sharp coming on as a sub for us in the PL.? I'd like to remember.
We've moved on and Billy is not good enough for Saints now....though a finisher in the box would have been useful to us this season.
No Texaco Cup - lost 3-1 on agg to Newcastle. That was my first ever experience of cup final disappointment.
