I can't see an appearance thing working, it would undermine the manager and cause lots of problems. IMO we need to make clubs more stable in terms of finance (if FFP was fairly administered we'd see this happen to a greater effect) and giving managers more time at a club which means making the disparity between the football league and PL alot smaller and perhaps also prevent majority ownership of clubs. We need to make competitions about the glory again not the money, I mean Norwich will receive more money for being relegated this year than Man U got last year for winning the title, that's absurd!! Sort this out and I believe we'd see more clubs invent in their academies and try to build a team giving youngsters a chance rather than chucking readymade players in because managers fear for their jobs. Alot of youngsters just need to be given a chance, look at the likes of what Rodgers and Martinez have done this season, they've had the courage to put young players into their teams and they've stepped up to the plate!! Coaching is obviously vitally important but IMO we have enough talent there the trouble is from the ages of 17-19 those talented players aren't being given enough game time at their own clubs to develop
I'm surprised by this, hopefully it doesn't happen then: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27340856
The more I read the more I actually think it's a completely stupid idea. I used to quite enjoy going to see the reserves on a weekday evening at Portman Road because it was an enjoyable relaxed way to spend an evening without worrying too much about the result - and the pitch was in much better nick than it is now. A two tier Northern and Southern Combination league - I'm sure some people would even tune in to see the likes of Van Persie and Fernando Torres in the reserves on Sky - if they're on the bench they can never play on Saturday in division five anyway.
