Its a shame the next deal will be for the Hartlepool game (£10 all areas) - SURELY the club shouldnt need to hike up the prices on the day Charlton should lift the League One title??
A lot of people at the game were complaining about all the kids there. Do they not realise it's easier to capture a fan whilst young, instead of attempting to change allegiances? I thought it was brilliant y'day. A busy club is a happy club.
Agree Chrissy, the kids are the next generation of our future - especially with our new stadium (ooops, better not go there!) - must admit, it sounded fantastic on Player, and the game sounded good too. And it seemed to lift the team,at a time when the team needed lifting - i'm all in favour of it. BTW, if we have mathematically won the title before Hartlepool , do they present the trophy ASAP? or do they wait til last home game of the season?
Also noticed that we were attacking the JS end in 2nd half - thats unusual, did Stevenage win the toss?
I was discussing this before the game yesterday I dont take much notice in the coin toss and who shoots which way in what half but I felt that the sun in the first half might play a big part and could hinder whoever was shooting towards the JS
It's up to the club I think Stu. Some clubs used to lift it ASAP, but in recent times they seem to wait for the last home game of the season, I'd hope for the latter should we win the league. And I'd like "we are the champions". Hate all the new stuff that gets played when a league/cup is won. But again, still a big if.
"I want to break free" was a very influential video when learning how to do the washing up, or the hovering.
I took A friend to her first ever football game, shes been a gooner cos of her family, but by the end of yesterday, she turned to me and said "so, whens the next home game?" can only be a good thing!
Any new fan is a good thing for the club. But, depending on their age, it would be down to the parents taking them along at the full price. For that reason only, I can't see a massive new fan-base emerging from these initiatives. My kids often bring their friends to matches and they absolutely love it at The Valley. But unless they come with me and the nippers they never go again.
