My eyes nearly popped out when I read that Are you not aware Mourinho has a long history of playing defensive/boring/anti-football long before he came to United?
Tbh I don't buy into that in the way most do Yes he can be ultra defensive, yet in the past it was warranted against likes of barca etc but Chelsea, for example, were free flowing against the lesser sides The current defensive mindset against lesser teams is dictated by players, against the current city side I call good management SAF nearly always won the league beating those outside the top 4 and playing welbeck over Rooney against Madrid etc showed the defensive side against the bigger clubs
We can't have been watching the same Chelsea. Jesus, he dropped Hazard, in his words... "It was just a tactical decision leaving super quality on the bench but bringing tactical discipline and hoping that the team could be solid." At home to European heavyweights Aston Villa!
Had a right go at the performance, saying this isn't how I prepared them to play. Was very angry Lack of personality, class, desire etc Praised mctom saying even though he misplaced more passes than ever he still tried whereas others didn't. Said 6/7 players not doing it makes it hard to win Slated shaw without naming him. That's all a very brief summary in my words Edit: he also said players were told to get ball moving quickly between the lines and make space but some passing sideways and some hiding behind defenders
The sun shines out of his arse, no? Seriously, last night, calling out the players in public for a lack of personality, class and desire, saying they are scared to play, individual criticisms of Shaw and McTominay. What do you think that will do to the players? Also, don't you wonder why there is that fear and reservation to play within the players in the first place? Almost two years working with the players, four transfer windows, £300 million spent, and he's going on like he just inherited a new team last week.
Tbh mate I don't know you and don't think I've conversed with you before I'm all for conversation but my last response to you was because you were being a twat, IMO of course. And your first comment in your response above doesn't show me anything different. Based on that I will leave you to it
Cheer up, I'm having a laugh (see the smileys). And that is how your posts come across... He can put down the club's heritage, alienate world class talents, continually slate the players in public, all to excuse his own failings, he can impose his anti-football on United, underperform... And you either don't see it or think it's good.
fair enough if you were just having a laugh/wum etc. FYI I think mourinho is a ****. However I didn't see what was being peddled with the presser Subsequent comments, eg after the Brighton match, will be judged on their own merit and not linked in with the presser. If you see what I mean
You need to nip over more often, there are lots of mini rants about the bloke. In a very brief nuitshell; the bloke is a knobhead, wouldn't bat an eyelid if he left tomorrow, produces ****e football, blames everyone but himself, has a point on inheriting utter ****e from van Gaal though, we're probably stuck with him if he gets his own way, hopefully he won't.
He is an odd character. I will give him some praise in that he has got you back up to second and it would't surprise me if you challenged next year. However, I agree it is awful to watch. I never liked United (obviously) but I didn't mind admitting they used to play attractive attacking football and were most deadly right at the end of games. His style is just alien to United. Doesn't fit well at all with the clubs ethos. I detested him at Chelsea. Arrogant, obnoxious and a wind up merchant. In fact everything about him - but he backed up his attitude with what Chelsea produced on the pitch which was often superb (1st tenure). That small club needed a big character like him to show them the way - you guys don't. His ego is not being pumped at United and it's getting to him a little. He feels he should be being praised. He is showing the same attitude as both times he left Chelsea. Sulking, blaming other people, grumpy, belligerent. I think he will stay for another year but I can actually see him resigning/ mutual agreement at some point before that.
Is that really an excuse almost two years, four transfer windows and £300 million down the line? The defence and centre back positions in particular were an obvious place for improvement. So why is Bailly, who whilst good I wouldn't call top class, our only improvement? Why is he wasting transfer fees and huge wages on players past their peak like Zlatan, Matic and Sanchez? Why haven't other big signings like Pogba, Lindelof and Mkhi worked out? Whatever we think of the players he inherited, isn't it true that Mourinho's own recruitment/management has not been good enough?
