Nope, he has no chance of making it at utd. All this means is we can sell him to a little club like arsenal for a bit more money next year
I'm not saying English players are any more loyal. I'm saying players that have moved abroad have less to consider, there's usually less attachment to the area and country they're based in so money's more of a priority. Not sure I've quite worded that right but I think it makes sense. Actually we did accept an offer for Berbatov from City but he didn't want to go there, he wanted to go to United. Same as Crouch. All clubs bend or break the rules was my point. As much as fans might get annoyed by players leaving for more money, their club is as responsible as the agents and players because they're waving money infront of other team's players too.
I see what you're saying, but then lots of factors can have an influence too. Like Beckham deliberately chose Madrid when he left Utd cos his missus wanted to go there over any other city, Mascherano left Liverpool cos his wife hated the dump etc. Tho I can see how it'd be easier for someone who's already moved overseas once to do so again rather than someone like Scholes or Giggs moving after they've spent most of their lives in Manchester and have their kids in schools etc. True, but wasn't the Berb offer from City after you'd already accepted an offer from Utd and City tried to gazump us with their new money? But like you say, it's all technicalities. Ultimately, when a player signs a contract to play for X years they should play for the club for X years unless both parties are happy for them to move. Unfortunately it very rarely works out that way.
I thought City tried to a deal quickly whilst we were still in stalemate with you over the fee but we're well off the point now
Nice. Hope he develops well. Barring more buys, I recon this is what our core team will look like next season. Do you recon that Fletcher will come back or will we see Ryan Tunniclife get some time in the team and begin an ascent to the first team? Also I am looking forward to the many one-two's between Welbeck, Nani, Rooney and Cleverly. The chemistry will only come good, trust me. Goalies: De Gea, Lindergard Defenders: Right backs: Rafael, Smalling, Jones Centre Backs: Vidic, Ferdinand,Evans Left Backs: Evra, Fabio, Fryers Midfield: Holding players: Carrick, Tunniclife? Attacking players: Cleverly, Scholes, Pogba, Giggs, Bebe(lol) Wingers: Nani, Valencia, Young, Park Strikers: Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Owen, Berbatov
We need more depth at the back, Smalling is a CB not a RB, and I don't think anyone knows where Jones actually plays. I also thought Pogba was more a defensive or box to box midfielder in the Viera mould. I think Owen won't be at the club anymore and Will Keane get sub appearances, along with Josh King. Macheda will be shown the door, as he can't even get minutes in a poor QPR team. Bebe, will go back out on loan, so I reckon we sign a defender, at least 1'center mid, and a young winger.
Hopefully a FB will be signed. Not happy about the chopping and changing on our RBs. Also we need to look for a replacement for Evra.
We would have one, but both Da Silvas cannot be relied upon to stay healthy for an extended amount of time. I still hope one day they'll both be starting on either side.
Don't agree. Better to cut losses and lower the wage bill. Taking up a squad number that could be better filled with a fit player.
Very few genuine fans were slating his talent, just his commitment and apparent willingness to **** off at the first signs of more money...
From my very good recollection no one said he was ****e, more that he was not yet worthy of a first team place and the money he was allegedly demanding and that he'd be better served by staying, learning his trade and showing some patience, or words to that effect. If he wasn't prepared to do that then he could **** off with our blessing essentially, and that still applies IF he thinks he's worthy of such big money so soon into his career without considering were he is and how he got there. The original article was misleading in that it stated he'd signed a pre contract with Juve, he hadn't as it now turns out. He may yet though. If he stays and knuckles down and fullfills his potential then great, if he chases the money his agent no doubt wants to pocket he can also do that, with a proverbial boot up the arse on his way out of the door. Saying that does not translate into "he's ****" though.
Did I? The actual fact is I personally didn't. Anyway I wasn't directing that at you personally, grow a pair will ya FFS. If you had any sense you would of seen the threads were merged. I've seen enough posts and spoke to people that thought he was **** and glad he was off, if you think I'm stupid enough to generalise all Utd fans into one comment - then I'm afraid you're the 'silly boy'.
