Inspired by AJ's chippy remark in a previous thread, I thought it'd be interesting to ask everyone which was their favourite restaurant or curry house in the town (or elsewhere)?

The Sheraz (try the Sherazi dish, folks), The Curry House, Mardol & Cafe Saffron are all pretty good.

But the best Indian restaurant for me can be found at Bilash in Wolves (close to the Civic). A very nice meal indeed, followed by an equally enjoyable gig!

What say ye?
 
Just been to the Ramna for a work meal. The Third place in Frankwell is pretty good too.
 
i loved the county cafe when it was in shrewsbury opposite adams the chemist and a few years ago i ate in a chippy cafe in market street. my favourite meal was in a pub on the corner of milk st. shropshire home cured black bacon, egg chips sausage egg and beans.

had i been old enough, when i lived in shrewsbury my local would have been the red barn in longden rd, i have eaten there and all was ok. but the place i miss most is morris's cafe and ballroom in castle st, sheer desecration by pillock planners
 
The pub on the corner of Milk St selling local produce - that must have been the Wheatsheaf. Well kept beer Marstons owned (ringwood, jennings etc) but one or two guests ales too.

Was Morris' cafe the allnighter one? My mate's dad who comes to footy with us talked about a late night cafe where all the kids in the 50s 60s used to hang out
 
no morris's was where expensive dances were held and the knobs had coffee in the mornings, the front facade of the building is retained above w h smiths castle st, nr where the raven hotel was. all history now thanks to crap council planning in the early 1960's
