Fonte Absolutely ****ing useless

It baffles me after a football match and reading all the comments on these sites and listening to some nut-cases on Solent etc - slagging off Fonte and Adkin for god sake !!
For me Fonte played well for most of the game but many defenders struggle to contain Van Persie for 94 minutes.
It was a great game of football and SMS was rocking - it was more like the atmosphere at away games where our supporters stick together as one.
We will start to get some points on the board soon - its only Sept and we have played 3 games, two of which were against the Manc clubs.

Everybody was so up for it and supporting Saints. Fact is we lost after bossing the game for most of the 90 minutes, and things hinged on Scholes coming on to get Utd control in midfield, Van Persie being a world class striker taking his chances and our 3 best players being substituted. It has nothing to do with Fonte or Fox not being Premiership standard players. Fonte did very well up until near the end. Cant understand the substitutions but maybe they were out of gas as they all put in a heck of lot of effort. I have never seen Puncheon play that well.
It is disapponting to get nothing from the game but thats football surely.
If Saints continue playing like this i think we will climb up the table and be looking OK by Christmas. After a defeat you get some daft supporters on these web sites and on the radio phone-ins etc - not sure that you are a daft supporter but you sure as hell often dont have much good to say about our team.

David and Goliath ? We should and our team should as well have the mentality of equals , this is not about the defeat at all , this is about why have we not brought in better defenders ? If Adkins can not see this now (he had also 3 months mid season) then he believes they are good enough , if he believes they are good enough in the premier league then I question his judgement .

What dribble ! Manchester Utd are a top European side, one of the best in the world, and we have just played them off the park for much of a great game of football - absolutley no disgrace in losing that game albeit disappointing to do so. We may well have the mentality of equals all right but Saints are a newly promoted team and we are not going to finish this season close to Manchester Utd. However the team will evolve as the season progesses and we will be all right - in my humble opinion. Fonte & Fox may make mistakes, as will others, but i dont think that they are as bad as you are making them out to be.
 
hahahahaha i have just got home from the match to see this and many other similar threads. OH GOD WE LET 3 GOALS IN AGAINST A TEAM WHO HAVE BEEN DOMINATING THE PREMIER LEAGUE FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. **** **** **** conclusion = SACK ADKINS (clearly has no idea what he is doing, trying to rest the players who have been running for the entire game and look knackered) sack Fonte and Hooiveld(we clearly can not trust such players to mark a guy who scored 30 goals last season) By the way, man united and man city conceded 2 or more goals last season only 6 times (we should ignore this and instead vent our FURY and DISGUST at players who played well for 85 minutes). Please grow the hell up and understand we are a team who were in League One 2 years ago. If not, feel free to go support man city/Barcelona where you can happily say that your team is amazing and your defence never concedes goals against another team yada yada yada.

If you don't like it when people vociferously agree on a particularly strongly worded comment then why the hell are you on a forum?

You are one of the biggest moaners on here. Instead of having flaming ab-dabs on the internet, why don't you just chill out and come back when you're going to be more rational and understanding.

He can say if he thinks it is ridiculously stupid, I think the same.

We aren't all going to agree on here, because some of us clearly think you are wrong. I do likewise.

Its not the defeat , its the manner of the defeat , how long are the hippies going to clap for ?


1) Is Fonte good enough as a Premiership starter ?
2) Is Fox good enough as a Premiership starter ?
3) Does Adkins think the two said are good enough ?


The 3rd question rhetorical as it seems he does , they plainly are not , we have leaked 8 goals in 3 games , two against top top quality granted but leaked 8 none the less so thats over a 100 a season , we are not going to score over a 100 goals this season that is for sure .
Lets be honest its not about defeat its always about the manner of the defeat , we were always going to struggle this year so why not build from a strong defence , Fox and Fonte simply are not good enough , Hooiveld is a good sub , my opinion and I am not changing from last season , they are immobile and far too slow , Fontes penalty is a classic example of this , too slow so lunged in like a donkey .
