Fontaine deal off

I personally don't like the idea of signing a 29 year old for £1m that isn't considered good enough for the Premier League. From what I hear Fontaine is a good experienced Championship centre-half. The only thing that concerns me about this deal is his injuries. However, with Adkins being a former physio, if he sees this as too big a risk, I think he will pull out of the deal.

 

We get linked with a striker from Burnley and we end up signing left-back Fox.

We get linked with a striker from Bristol and we look like signing centre-back Fontaine.

We get linked with a striker from Leicester thereforew, by my reckoning, we will in fact sign Matt Mills in a dramatic u-turn from the player in response ot being left on the bench

 

You jest, but I do think there have been some similar tactics used to date by NC and NA

Definitely, but £1m for a player prepared to potentially give 6/7 years of service, or £900k for one who could be on his last legs in 2 or 3 seasons?

I remember some criticised the signing of Fonte, and for that reason, lets wait and see.

Why? How do you know Gorkss is "clearly much better". Patrick Agyemang was in the QPR team that got promoted, doesn't mean I want him to sign for us!!!

 

Not convinced by they guy as I haven't seen him play. But any player who gets 200 apps in the championship must be a half decent player. Im willing to give the guy a chance and see what he can bring to the side. The ankle injury is a concern though, And surley if he passes a medical while injured that dosen't really add up.

 

A youth team player just said on twitter he's seen Fontaine at the training ground, looks like he could sign before the end of the day.

I haven seen Gorkss play, but the QPR fans (as mentioned) were univerasl in their praise of him, as comanding CB that was key to Rangers promotion. Talk of Fontiane's injury are a concern, and he seems to somewhat divide opinion in a midtable team. But in Adkins we must trust
