He's playing for Bangkok United now - I kid you not - and has scored 11 goals in 16 games for them according to Wikipedia Anyway, I'm going to start a new rumour that we're signing Peter Clarke from Huddersfield because I like him. So here it is. "Southampton are today weighing up a bid for Huddersfield Town Captain Peter Clarke after deals fell through for Ammar Jemal, Kaspars Gorkss and Liam Fontaine. The deal is said to be worth £1m plus add ons, and although Clarke recently signed a new contract with The Terriers, it is believed he has become frustrated with the clubs lack of ambition by selling both Pilkington and Peltier, tie this in with the fact they have only managed to gain 6 out of 12 points so far this season, as well as the matter of being knocked out of the Carling Cup last night - If Huddersfield refuse to sell the 29 year old he will hand in a transfer request in order to fulfill his dream of playing Championship football." ^^ What do you think lads? Was that good enough to pass on football-rumours?
simon peach and fourth official say he failed a medical and saints didn't like the look of his troublesome ankle
solentsport BBC Radio Solent #saintsfc Solent understands that Fontaine deal broke down as Saints unable to make an informed decision on ankle injury. Not he failed
Phew that was lucky !!, i am sure we can get somebody better than him, shame reading have now signed korkass
Sky Sports reporting Bristol City rejecting the bid!? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_7122161,00.html I can't help but feel this smells like lazy journalism, as they cite the Bristol City website as a source; the article that just said he wasn't leaving, maybe they just assumed this meant the bid was rejected?
Heard the news earlier, but not the detail. At the time, I suspected he'd failed his medical. The fact that he may have passed, but Saints decided to play safe, is as much as the player failing the test. Good enough for me.
I saw that. Now they have changed their minds. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_7122161,00.html They just say that he met with us but no agreement was in place. Do you think Cortese got on the phone and told them to get their facts straight or...
sorry mate -cant accept this - you tacked this football rumour onto an existing thread and didnt start a new one. i can only slightly believe these things if a new thread is started every time.
Well I don't believe that you don't believe TRSS. This post is also in the same thread to the post it replied to.
I'd rather we waited until the last day to sign the right player rather than rush in with someone that would potentially be injury-prone... So good decision SFC!
