Tank tops and balaclavas proof that the Devil exists.

Mentioned before that my dear old Mum wasn't the best knitter.
Jumper arms different lengths the whole thing all different shapes and god forbid you clicked it, it would unravel faster than a very fast thing!

Just had a good chuckle at that MR, my mother thought she was a good knitter and once did me a Man City hat (don't ask why cos i can't remember) but it had a little bit of wool that used to stick up and one day being bored i decided i would give it a tug. It ended up looking like that hat out of home alone when his head caught fire. That was me sent straight to bed.

O M G as Stephen Fry would say!

Who else did the two circles of card with holes through to wrap the wool around to make the BOBBLES for our hats?
Memories of wrapping for hours to get the red and white perfect then cutting round the edge tying through the middle and one perfect bobble.

We were lucky to get one of those little plastic soldiers on his own stand with his bent rifle.

I think I got a cowboy outfit, but we'll not go any further on that as we don't want to upset anyone.

    e in January

Rich indeed, funny but my mum had to go into care in January, she needs 24/7 care. Last Sunday my sister and I had mothers day with her, our last one I think, and we laughed about our childhood, no money but lots of fun. Always dirty from the soot and cold with no central heating.

    A white peewee?

Just writing Iron Benkers and the memories flooded back, I used to have a good supply and swapped loads with my mates. (For those not in the know Benkers were ball bearings. :p)

My dad was a blacksmith at the pit and made me loads of things, trouble was everything was huge. He made a sledge and it was a bastard to pull but once I got going, could have wiped out the street, you dont apprecaite them till they are gone

That's sad Syd. As years go by, you realise more and more what you are missing.

It changes outlookes mate, most of my life I have chased money, fast cars, big houses. Now its peace and contentment, its all I look for, and 3 points. Can honestly say I am happy now, happier than ever before and it only took two divorces and a lot of crap to get here

    Had the huge sledge :p

I always preferred a Morris Minor bonnet when we could find one.
Sliding down Penshaw hill on one of those was exhilarating to say the least!

But being a mechanical engineer he made ****ing brilliant bogies. <ok>
