Two mentions to Dylan in the song He was the one in the cast. The coat borrowed from James Dean refers to him wearing the same zip up jacket on the cover of The Freewheeling Bob Dylan that Dean used to wear. We used to try and work out who he was referring to. The reference to Lennon reading a book on Marx whilst the quartet practised in the park referred to Lennon spouting left wing stuff whilst making a fortune but Pete Seeger's group, The Weavers were blackballed off TV for not sticking to what they were supposed to sing and singing a protest song. One I didn't figure out, embarrassingly given my avatar, was the lady who sang the blues was Janis Joplin. Some of the lyrics are deciphered here.
