Saw them at Brid Spa. How good he was reflected in the fact it was one of the few bands to keep our lot out of the bar for such a length of time.
Saw Ben E King in Leeds, backed by Sounds Incorporated. Brilliant.
Never gets remembered as much but I thought Rudy Lewis who sings on these two, which are townof my favourite Drifters songs, had a fantastic voice. He died the night before they were due to record Under Boardwalk. The record company insisted they go ahead and Johnny Moore sings it in a downbeat way and was always reluctant to perform it and seldom did.
