Forgot about him being Scottish.Shouldn't have done as I was the only one at a quiz a few years back who named all four drummers who had played for the Beatles, though some other apparently played a couple of times. The early pressings of Love Me Do was the one with Starr on but when it sold out they pressed some more with White on, His was the one used on all, subsequent releases of it. Used to know someone in a band at Scarborough who had a wall of his flat covered with copies of Love Me Do from when he worked in London and Epstein had sent a few of them out to buy the record at stores which were used for compiling the charts. He had his own brief moment in the limelight when Steve Marriott was impressed with them when they were a support group and he got them to record One Night Stand. Must go and look, for songs with tenuous links to Scotland.
There is a Scottish connection to that song. As big a connection as a Scottish session drummer playing on Love Me Do. The connection is a Scot in an earlier post.
The Scotsman from West London ? How about some real Jock talent like The Bay City Rollers, Bonnie Tyler and Lulu ?
