I have really pissed off Jase as I transfer listed him soon after letting Cort go. He went to the papers to get the fans on his side........"bothered!" .... get over it son I've got better younger players coming along After pre season Pritchard is my starting partner for Hollands in midfield but have to strenghen my left side due to international call ups and a injury to Jacko
So far - Hartlepool 1 Addicks 5 Reading 1 Addicks 2 (Fizzy Pop) Addicks 1 Stevenage 0 (players seem worried about playing at home) Chesterfield 1 Addicks 4 Think I need more memory as the games take ages even at the fastest speed! 2nd level on points with Udders and all players reet chippa
Got a bit frustrated with my Charlton one, no progress was being made in the Championship so I stated a new game with St Mirren. 10 games gone, unbeaten, top, 3 clear of Celtic who have a game in hand. Been getting ridiculously lucky, beat Celtic 1-0, they had 16 shots to my 4 but it's a results business. My aim now is to get top 5 which would put me in Europe, but if Rangers keep dropping points and I keep winning, St Mirren could be in the Champs League...unlikely though.
Okay Gents, Season 1 completed and I'm pleased to say I managed to finish with exactly 100 points! Unfortunately this was only good enough for second place in the league as Preston acquired 102! I would probably have got a few more if I hadn't decided to drop all of my loan players after securing promotion and picking the youngsters (Harriett, Poyet, Cousins, Solly and Smith all started at least 4 of the last 5 games of the season) But I decided building for the future was the most important things - especially as the club is somehow 2.5m in the red even though I operated under my wage budget and didn't spend all of my transfer kitty! The JPT is also in the bag - not much to write home about but it's always nice to get some silverware! The big surprise for the second half of my season was Ben Hamer reclaiming the number 1 jersey from Amos (who will now head back to Man U anyway), he managed to keep 18 clean sheets in 30 games and this defense (helped by the arrival of Peter Ramage on loan) really was key to getting promotion as Priskin and BWP struggled for goals in the new year! They did score 30 and 18 respectively but only 10 between them from January left me having to grind out wins (Agymangs arrival on loan did help with 9 from 14 and young Michael Smith got 2 in the run in). 5 other players really deserve a mention from the season - Sanchez Watt came in on loan and managed 51 appearances with 9 goals and 14 assists and I'll definitely be looking at bringing him back for next season, Waggy on the other flank got 14 goals and 13 assists in 52 starts. Hollands and Alonso were virtually ever present in the midfield (except for a 3 game ban for Danny) and really didn't give anyone else a chance to establish themselves. Finally Michael Morrison somehow scored 14 goals which is more than he's managed in the rest of his career and he was excellent at the back. With next season only a few months away I have to consider how to replace my loan players and how best to continue to develop the youngsters - I'm hoping a couple will go out on loan and get a lot of first team football! Key positions for me will be CB (alongside Morrison) and CF (as Kermit and Euell want to leave!). Solly may well start the season as first choice RB but I'll need some cover (unless I keep Cousins here to do that job). All of this is obviously dependent on the finances, but without a doubt I'll be trawling lists of those released on free's to see who is around! Hope your games are all progressing well, South Coast
Congrats on promotion! As for solly/cousins- both were more than able for me in the c'ship. Cousins has even reclaimed his spot in my premiership side. I too am getting a bit miffed with my CAFC game. Turning profit every month, but can't get a budget increase for wages.. Can only offer 1.9k per week for first team football and 8k for key player. Needless to say it was more than difficult to recruit. Wondering if I should have taken the man utd job now...
Super - I don't see how you get no money in the prem im in third season prem and had £20 mill in all 3 seasons in the top flight to spend and even won the league cup!! Charlton are going on a european tour. Best result i've had so far was a 4-0 home win against man utd although phil jones got sent off after 18 minutes.
I got given 20mil, but a rubbish wage budget. Had to take from my transfer budget to sign Gago and Sigurdsson. After that I was left with pretty much no money and still a rubbish budget on wages. Can't answer why- we are making 2mil a month in the Premiership.
Mary, you need to learn to make do with what's given to you! Overspending is what has got the Greeks into the mess they are in
just got offered england job just before 14 world cup 2 games in lost uraguay beat senegal France next to decide who goes through
What's the point in being given the tools to build if there is no land to build on? I couldn't even sign Championship players because of the wages I was offering! Plus, Fernando Gago at CAFC? Had to be done
just ordered the full version from Amazon (£19.98) so I will pass all of Missy's moans over to Mary when I'm on the computer for the whole of Christmas!
i've spotted, now that i'm playing my second game, that players who didnt come to me the first time round will come to us if you get your ratings up as much as you can - like talk to press more, do the half time team talks, comment on players. all helps. then, this time i hired more coaches and even sacked some to replace with better skilled ones and the training ratings went up to 4 or 5 star. absolutely walked the league, won the b&q cup and got to the 5th round of the FA cup without really buying anyone new. sold doc and francis to fund the new coaches. now have 1.6m to spend on the championship campaign, who should i buy?
