I think that was the cannon street one I was talking about, there dropping like flys! Think I'll have to go rescission, was hoping to pick one up cheap secondhand but never mind
Jesus! I'm mid March in my first season, BWP has 32 in 38 in all comps. Got another go at my FA cup run- this time beating WBA over 2 legs, then Ipswich and just lost narrowly to Arsenal 2-1 at the Valley.. BWP hitting the inside of the post in the final 10. God I love this game.
i just got promoted. the board are skint and are accepting bids without me having a say (stephens, jackson). weird really as i only bought beattie in the first season. euell, francis, benno, doherty all gone. think i'll struggle in the champ as i cant afford anyone decent, the squads a lot thinner on the ground and i dont know who'll be good on a free.. any suggestions?
How did you spend all our money? From what I understand the money man (in real life) has enough money to keep us going in the Championship without selling the silver Are you the Manager of Bradford in real life?
The problem is the wage bill means we are constantly losing money each month. I recorded a 2mil+ loss despite a title and JPT win, and 6th round of FA Cup. After promotion I got a wage bill of 100k, 65k spending money. Strangely with that- they still won't let me offer more than 4k when trying to recruit (causing problems in trying to sign a GK). I've signed: Tesselaar (free) De Laet (free) Anouar Diba (free) Martin Klein (60k) Malaury Martin (free) I've sold Hamer, Kermo, Bover, Doc, Francis etc. Start of Championship season and my team is: Suli(desperate to replace) Cousins/De laet - Loovens - Klein - Tesselaar Waggy/Diba - Alonso - Martin - Zeytulaev/Etuhu BWP - Hayes/Winsper(Came through youth team- potential to be leading Prem Striker!) Couple of loans and hoping to get play offs.
I still havent got any further than October in mine owing to a new job in my real life, but I was punching above my weight with Wycombe - we was 7th. I'm worried when I go back to it at the weekend I'll have lost my touch... Does anyone think that it is easier this year?
its strange. you can win the league quite easily with charlton. but you end up at a loss. i straight away got rid of players thinking if the wage bill was low it'd save money so i'd more to spend in the champ. but now i'm there, all the tv money has done is pay of the debt and left me with about £100k to spend. have resisted selling, but the chairman keeps going "yeah, too good a deal".
I just hate that now your in the Championship, all Prem clubs expect you to pay a loan fee. Swansea wanted over 700k for Ferrie Bodde for the season- it's stupid. Won the first game 3-2 away at Coventry.. but can see it will be much harder than league one.
I linked with Man Utd- but haven't had anything much other than the 93k a year. Got Macheda on loan in January for the League One campaign- then realised he had played for Utd and an Italian team on loan so I couldn't use him. As for the game being easier- I thought that at first, but now in the second you will start to see the difference. Have noticed that there are lots of own goals though.
8 games into the 2nd season, sitting in 11th would take mid table this year. Unfortunately the club's over 2 mill in debt and it's increasing all the time, may be forced to sell. My team, when everyone's fit is: Lewis Hateley Taylor Hutchinson (rejected 1.1mil bid from Burnley in summer) Wiggins Green James (Utd player got on a free) Drinkwater (^same) Watt (on loan from Arsenal) Messoudi (Belgian striker)/Kermorgant/Blake BWP
I went for Lewis on your recommendation, but because my board was playing silly bugger an wouldn't let me offer wages until August, as I could finally offer what he wanted, man city then swooped and stole him. Now have a keeper called kean(?) on loan from b'burn. 5 games in, 2 league wins and two draws plus a league cup win against Luton.
Starting a new carear going to be unemployed and see where it takes me (also promissing myself no cheating!!!!)
if you could modify the game in anyway, what would you change (e.g. settings) to make it more realistic in being in charge of charlton. granted, there is no setting for boo boys, but for me, i'd wipe out the loans we have on there. my understanding of it in real life are that they are friendly loans only to be repaid when we get back in the prem
I'd like fan days(rather than just the press, having to answer to fan groups), blogs would be good- they do a little analysis, but something more in depth would be good. I'd also like transfers to be a bit more in depth. In the game you make a bid and get an answer the next day. I'd like the chance to have dialogue with the other manager, forging relationships. I.E, get on with fergie and he might be more willing to do business, dislike eachother and the chance of getting a player from him decreases. Football is a networking game- think it needs to be represented more.
