Is there some sort of support group for managers like us? I've just knocked Arsenal out of the FA cup 2-1(away). Beat Liverpool the round before over 2 legs, so now in the 6th round against WBA. This game is too unrealistic.. CAFC never go this far in cups.
Also - Have you guys got any good regens (the young, ''fake'' players). My next ''Emile Heskey'' has just become a wonderkid. Nothing more romantic when a kid comes through the system
Came through my youth system - had good youth coaches in Hart, Sbragia and some other fella from Leeds. Then got him to learn from my Brazilian target man, Tulio de Melo. It's nice seeing he is a wonderkid, but the comparison to Heskey still scares me massively. Here are some more young players I've signed (all free) who are going on to become leading Premiership players (apparently): I put a cheeky one of Sigurdsson in at the end - just to show my one man team. Every single one of his goals has been a goal of the month winner/top 3. Bargain for 6.5mil
Apologies for double post, but completed my first season back in the Prem so here's a recap. I accepted a budget with the promise of a safe mid table. In the end, after a bizarre season where I went on long runs of losing and winning, we finished 8th. In the cups I lost in the League Cup final to Man Utd (3-1) and in the 6th round of the FA cup to WBA (after beating L'pool and Arsenal in the previous rounds ). Gylfi Sigurdsson finished with the highest amount of assists with 21 and an average rating of 7.58 which meant he was the 5th best player in the league (but came third in the player of the year). Allaguri(my freebie striker) scored 23 goals including 5 against B'pool. That was the nearest I've ever come to the double hat trick achievement. The 4-4-2 which had won me both League One and the Championship just wasn't working at the start. I switched to a 4-2(DM's),3(AM's)1. This allowed me to play Sigurdsson and Gago in there preferred positions and the team simply clicked. For next season, papa needs a new AMR(to replace Wagstaff sadly), LB (to replace Kieron Richardson), and AML(to replace a mixture of players). Doubt my board will give me much. Anything less than £15m and Slater might wake up to a resignation letter
SUPER -ive just started a new season on champ man so far gone all of pre season unbeaten using a 3 in defence system with 2 defenders in front off defenders and got 4 in midfield and 2 up front -this system works ive beaten hull 1-0 cardiff 1-0 and welling away 4-0 signed most of league one and league two players and sold francis to chelsea for 12mil using a cheat so i got money play with.Signed spring,harley,hughes,mourisho,laird,bostwick and lee hendrie on a free also had a 1.3mil bid for schemichal excepted by leicester ! and bid 1.6m for lambert
funny thing is sold francis to chelsea for over 10mil i wish that was like that in real life................
After being overly bored of being Charlton manager stuck in the Championship on very low wage and transfer budgets, i've started afresh with West Ham, at the moment have only lost one match all season and am joint top with Bristol City. I would highly recommend West Ham as a club to manage, it is very easy at the moment!
I missed out on free agent Tevez as my board were so stingy (and he greedy). Got to end of July and no one had moved for him... My board wouldn't release more money for wages, and he then signed for Boca. Don't know about your games, but in mine Tevez didn't play a single game for city.

Got off to a great start with 9 league wins the last 5 of which were all clean sheets but since then I've drawn 3 lost 4 and won none, man this game can be frustrating. Will hopefully turn it around tonight BWP will be back in a week (only played 1 game) had to depend on Soukouna up top (free transfer) who has scored 11 goals but not one in the last 5 or so. Finally ended that dismal run with a dominant 4-0 win at home to Bury, only 3 points off top despite recent form.
Stick with it CAFC, I think all of us who were successful in our first season had a bit of a blip somewhere (mine was December -January where I couldn't buy a goal and seemed to concede in the 80-90 min range of every game) but for me thats what makes the game more realistic and fun than most other management sims. So who have you signed?

I am and will SCA 26 games in now, in 2nd place 4 points behind Sheff Utd 3 above Col U. Players I've brought in so far; Mäenpää GK (free) Nosworthy CD (Short loan to cover injuries) Materazzi CD (free) 38 but was playing for inter last season N'Diaye DM (free) Orlandi AM RLC(loan) Soukouna ST (free) 17 goals in 25 games January is half gone and my only mid season signing thus far is Galbraith 55k from hibs LM with good potential. Nosworthy has been really good since he was brought in, may have to extend his loan to the end of the season and as a couple of my players (francis et al) want out hopefully can get some more signings in asap.
im 3 teams now-england -havent played full game yet,welling with 7mil in bank using all russian money!and charlton after i said last re sheff wed game charlton then went on to win 3-0 vs notts co at home and my last match up to 2nd in league one having just drawn with stevenage away,signed noseworthy and ritchie now along with doyley at watford -welling first game lost 2 someone 2-1 then beat sutton 4-1 at home and dorchester 5-0 away im currently also 2nd in that signed players like couago x ipswich forward on a free carole midfielder whos good and the best in division prob why im winning everything in sight i do love cheats!save pain of just having 250k in the bank!
Acworth - not to question your approach to the game... but doesn't all this cheating make it a little pointless? I'm all for amazing achievements in FM and in the past I would often save before crucial games or just quit without saving if I was on a bad run (I haven't so far this game) but surely Welling with 7m in the bank makes the game so disproportionately biased it becomes somewhat uninteresting? I am mid table in the championship in my second season for anyone who is interested, after 31 games I'm 12th with 44 points, safe but unspectacular this year for me, looking to build towards next season. I was really in for a struggle but then WBA came in and bought one of my summer signings (Mohammed Abu a 20 year old creative DM who i signed for free) for 1mil which freed up some cash so I bought in some reinforcements including a certain Mr Owen (not sure if its going to work out but at 5k a week on a free it seemed worth the punt). Anyway not had a chance to play much this week because of work (and I finally caved into some peer pressure and returned to the Eve universe for a month) but hoping to get some game time this weekend - hope all is good with the rest of your teams!
