I'm after a bit of advice, has anyone on here ever had flying lessons? Would you recommend it? How much did it cost? Where's the best place for tuition?
Cheers

Got a birthday voucher for a place near Selby but haven't been yet. No idea about cost (present) but will let you know how it goes once I've been. Having said that wouldn't you be looking for something near laaanden?
i can picture you typing on your phone while plummeting to the ground![]()

PM me your details and I'll pass them onto a pilot I know
He only does it as a hobby, but flies his own plane out of Humberside Airport and certainly flies with trainees and does some teaching and will know all about lessons etc
From start to finish including exams will be around 6/7k and can take a few months depending on the weather
When you qualify SW3 does that mean you will be offering chartered flights to grounds..?
One relatively low cost approach is to qualify for a light aircraft pilot license (LAPL) training in gliders first and then converting to power - the step up is much easier as many of the skills are transferable. This has been the route used by four of my pals who are now commercial pilots (two with KLM and one each with Flybe and Ryanair) and several others who are now flying for rhe RAF. If you live in East Yorkhire the Wolds Gliding Club at Pocklington is well worth a visit.
