That game had sold out. I went to Walsall to try and get a ticket. Banksy did his best but to no avail. I turned up at Ashton Gate and they opened the gates about 20 minutes before full time. We sneaked in and the Mrs and I went to the toilet first and mingled back with the others to just behind the dugout. One of the best days ever - fantastic.
If it was £8 Million, pretty sure we would sell. If he went to the Prem he could possibly get in the England squad due to the lack of decent CB, he can pass well but does not have quick feet with attackers around him to get the ball out. Fix that and he's world class
Money may well talk. I hope it doesn't in this case, but we'll see if any formal approach is made. If Newcastle were to offer Flint double the money that he's on here and a sizeable signing on fee, neither of which are beyond the bounds of possibility, it may well turn his head. Plus there is a better than average chance he could well be part of a Premiership squad this time next year should he leave.
However he is still on a contract with Bristol City for the next 3 years, so the final say goes to SL
And I for one would not blame him or feel any ill will. If he gets the opportunity he should take it, Newcastle will almost certainly go straight back up and I would like to see if he can cut it in the Prem.
Easily worth 8 million to a team as big as Newcastle. A dying breed of John Terry like body on the line English defenders.
