well today the big man had a reprieve, however another howler to let the opposition score again.
LJ had the bottle to give him the nod.
Will he get the nod again next week.

Thought Patterson was outstanding today, caused havoc, however the last ten minutes he was knackered. But looks a excellent sjgning.

Thought Tomlin had a excellent game today looked more like his old self.

Frankie kept the goals down fantastic,
However he scares me to death when he is like a headless chicken.

    Poor crowd,poor atmosphere,poor game.

To many points are being lost in a suicidal fashion at present, this needs to be addressed if we have any aspirations of a top six finish.

The only bonus today lots of side drew today.

Time to raise the bar LJ gradually we are slipping down the league slowly.

I wouldn't describe 19500 as a poor crowd at all, far from it actually.

Frankie literally had the whole stadium living in fear at times, his distribution is really hit and miss at times, but fair play he made some great saves to keep us in the game

Distribution is something that can be worked on and improved.
    Instinctive reaction saves is not.
I hope the GK coach is taking note.

Fielding is a good shot stopper, but his distribution and vision is as bad as it ever was. Kept us in the game for sure but I thought Patterson was outstanding and MOM

Against a team like Derby I would have expected another 2,000 or more on the gate.

Interesting to see that Huddersfield (going really well at the moment) got over 20,000 yesterday. That's well above their average over the last few seasons.

Mistake by Aden but you have to give Anya some credit for anticipating the "back header" as well.

I would rest the Big Man for the cup game (along with 8 or 9 others), but would be in my starting XI for Saturday

If he just headed the ball the way he was facing instead of these Silly back headers. we wouldn't be having this conversation. There is nothing wrong with just clearing a ball sometimes!

Problem with Flinty is his mistakes are costing us points. Reminds of Liam Fontaine when he went on a terrible
run of games that did not help our championship survival last time around. Needs to be rested for a couple of
games to break the cycle and restore confidence.

LJ said after the Wednesday game, sometimes players need to use the 100 yards available to them and just hoof it away.
However the thing is Aden has now done the backward header a few times now, so not difficult to read, so I'm hoping he learnt from this.
Elkstrand looked like a no nonsense defender so I'm hoping Aden learns from him. As I can't see Elkstrand playing a full game for a while.

Good thing is he can rest on Tuesday night and hopefully refocus, as I don't see that as a dropping when it's a cup game like RR wants to drop him for. And to think it's only three weeks since everyone was saying what ever the rumour price was not enough for Flint.

Though he was poor myself.. and having a stand up argument with Johnson was unprofessional. if he chucked the fingers at me and I was the gaffer he would be having a little rest.

The Bournemouth fans said he could be a bit of a 'loose cannon' at times and probably why he was let go. If LJ doesn't stamp down on that type of behaviour immediately, he could be seen as a 'soft touch' and lose respect in the dressing room. The thing is; how to stamp down on it, making it clear who is in charge without alienating Tomlin completely and destroying his desire to play - or worse, provoking a dressing room 'mutiny' - that's a manager's challenge.

I agree. Other than the error, he played well. Had the strength of character to carry on as first of all I worried that his head could go down. Sure he will be fine. Dont think he will try that one again for a while

'If he just headed the ball the way he was facing instead'

The best manager I ever played for's mantra was :
'Play the fu**ing way your facing'.

    Brian Clough?

A possibility is that Aden Flints sudden spike in errors could be linked to the Manager wanting a more fluid style.

ok Flint has made a couple of mistakes, but hes not become a bad player over night, and i think as usual a lot of our fans act a little too quickly, yes he should of cleared the ball, but as he went to head it, i and doubtless many others saw the run of Anya, SO why didn't any of the 3-4 players around him give him a shout, as hes looking at the ball and cant look always. It was his mistake but i am just saying its a team game and talking on the pitch is a MUST in football isn't it?

I think rest him for cup game at Fulham, and then recall him IMHO.

Other players mistakes were maybe a mis place pass or header, Flints mistakes are directly costing us points.

I do fear another Fontaine situation happening again, take him out the limelight and give Moore a chance. What's the point of bringing in defensive competition if we're just going to stick with one error prone player?
