No-one doubts that Bent scores goals, but I don't think he adds more to a team than that. OK, it's pretty darn important, but Fletcher's all-round contribution is possibly better. I think Fletcher would be a good buy for us, but he's not the answer on his own.
I really dont think ramadan screws them up as much as people say, and its usually the supporters when their player is crap during/just after it. They only fast from dawn to dusk, so for an example today in Newcastle it was 3:16am to 08:56pm then they can do what they want after that, probably a huge meal before bed tbh. I have never done it before, well actually I do it nearly everyday as I usually just have 1 meal a day, but the ones doing ramadan cant drink either, that would hurt i suppose but i did find this. Health effects Fasting does not pose any medical risks to healthy individuals. In fact, Sarah Amer, MS, RD, CDN, says, “The body has the incredible ability to adapt.” She reveals that it takes her only a few days of fasting to get back to her usual activity level.[19] A team of cardiologists in the UAE found that people observing Ramadan enjoy a positive effect on their lipid profile, which means there is a reduction of cholesterol in the blood I just dont think this, its ramadan of course he wont be as good, washes really.
You cannot compare Fletcher to Bent, can he get the ball on the halfway line then go on to score, Bruce made a very costly mistake selling Bent he should kept him here at any cost.
That's fair enough, i guess a lot of it is psychological, and as you say, that might be just with the fans. Whilst not eating at the same time as his team-mates might not do much, not being able to drink must be tough, not just whilst in a match but afterwards with the risk of cramp etc. His goalscoring record improved after Ramadan last season, but then, we also have to take into consideration the fact he had just moved to a new team and needed time to adjust. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
The first half hour Sunderland created at least 3 clear cut chances with crosses from Colback and Sessengon there was just no one there. Admittedly the next 60 minutes they were dreadful.
In my opinion, they don't work well together. Every time I see them play, they are too close together, getting in each others ways. Ba seemed to get very greedy with the ball and try to score goals when Cisse was in a better position and likewise for the reverse situation. As soon as one came off, the other started looking really good. We lack a proper number 10, although I feel Ba could do it (but probably doesn't want to). Benny could do it, but I'd rather have him on the wing or just off the main striker in a 4-3-3. Either way (as I am digressing) something has to give (rotation of squad most likely) as I would not play them both together.
Did you know, if you were to fast one day a week, your body would be all the better for it. It would allow for all the toxins and other bad stuff to get flushed out. Sadly, I cannot got more than a few hours without food (unless sleeping) so I could never pull it off.
Couple of years ago i went on that Juice only detox program, 5 Fresh Juice/Vegetable drinks a day and that was it, you cant chew anything, I lasted 4 days but i did loose 8lb in weight, i did feel great but willpower just went out the window, as the rest of the family was having proper food.
Nutritionists did a study that found blended foods kept you feeling fuller for longer...I started a new exercise regime (I get injured all the time and seem to be constantly starting them, then getting injured again) and decided to give the diet a bash...Porridge and a protein shake for breakfast, soup for lunch and a normal dinner as long as half of the plate was vegetables or salad (potatoes not included as a vegetable) and ate no sweets, crisps or bread, having low calorie hot chocolates made with water if I was really struggling or having 1 polo or something...Lost a stone in 2 weeks and still had enough energy to train...Recommend the soup thing with no snacks to anyone!
If they worked well together, Ba would have scored more than he did. Whether you like the fact or not, Ba and Cisse do not play well together.
