I think it'll be sooner rather than later that he goes. He's a million miles away from using the squad properly, results are poor and the mood off the pitch is ugly. Probably more hope than anything but I've got a hunch that was his last game. Sounds like the takeover is very close.
This takeover needs to gets signed asap so that this ****er gets peddled otherwise it's another season in this league. Not to late to salvage it but change needed soon.
I don’t feel privileged about Sunderland, we deserve to be where we are and it’s our responsibility to battle and get out of this ****hole of a league, I completely agreed with Cameron Jerome when he said we are just an average league 1 side (not club). I do know that if we get promoted we are big enough to attract better players to compete in the Championship, but fu**ing hell, this league is there for the taking with a decent manager brave enough to set us up to win every game. That bordered on criminal tonight, bringing on two defenders with 3 minutes to go against a poor Fleetwood who were there for the taking most of the game.
Parky is worse than MON!! Abd I thought that would be an impossible achievement, as MON was worse than MacmanyMoney!!! FFS!!! He is simply INEPT, and has no personality!! He’s like the worlds worst joke!! Am I dreaming? Bart
well, not quite the 2nd half i expected although they did seem to pick it up at one point and the equaliser was coming...five subs allowed he swaps a donkey for a donkey, barton makes far more use of the new rules and it showed. we have a lot of injuries, players need a break, use your subs especially with so many young lads desperate for a chance against a tired (and let's be honest, not great side to face) and apart from 'donkey swap' he once again waits till within the last five minutes to put two more subs on, regardless of their position less than 5 minutes gives no one time to even get into the pace of the game, let alone change it. feck it, not even slightly annoyed now as it has become 'the norm'
way off the mark and nowhere near the point I was trying to make I know we need to win. I don’t think it was a good result at all. An outsider may see us getting a draw at an in form side who have recently scored goals for fun. My point is that loads had us to lose on here, Facebook, Twitter and even those I speak to regularly. If you’re not anti Parkinson (which is not many that I can see), or not a Sunderland fan, most would see this as a decent result. (Bookies had Fleetwood favourites before kick off I believe) If we’d played well and drawn, the outlook may also be different. If we’d gone for it and made some attacking changes for instance. So be it. But to settle for a draw and, with 5 possible subs, to not make an attacking change is criminal
Whilst Barton made use of the subs, his team created one 5 minute spell in 90. They scored then seemed content with a point. His subs did little or nothing to influence the game and, in all honesty, they were no better than us today. Sadly, that just means that we’re both ****e!!
There was plenty of blame to go around on that goal. Matthews wrong footed himself and was beaten at the near post. Flannagan played the forward that obstructed Mathews view onside. Baily Wright spilled the beans two weeks in a row. And when he tried to recover, he just picked off Mclaughlin who was trying to block the shot. O9 just sat there flat footed as the entire sequence unfolded. Leadbitter was also caught flat footed. Grigg was slow to react to the danger and when he did, he lacked the urgency required.
Fair play to Parkinson tonight best I’ve heard, that’s even better then Donald saying FPP is investing in him
"Phil... what's your overall assessment"... "Ermmmm..... can't look at the camera after that, I'm getting sacked"
And we should've won at Doncaster, but we didn't. We are totally hopeless at killing teams off. Go 1-0 up, sit back and hope for the best
Someone said earlier that he would bring up Fleetwoods recent form - but did he really -really say they expected some pressure when Fleetwood played down the slight slope ? If so , then he must think it was only the slope which made us a bit better first half . Straws , grasping
Not the first time he’s been like that post match though. He’s acted like he’s on his way after the last 3 games!! And, sadly, he’s still here (not that I’m sure who we’d replace him with)
I can see a major bounce back when the new manager comes in, as long as he dispenses with the golden oldies. Then we'll push on. Every cloud has a silver lining. We've just gotta hang on that little bit longer for the clouds to clear. This squad is more than good enough to go up, and 2-3 of the right additions will do just that. Onwards and Upwards!
These late goals are costing us dearly and recently have all come down the same side, we seem to loose it after 60 minutes, and need to address this now we have the players available. The five sub rule should have been a godsend but this fool wont take the gift he has been offered instead he is telling us that the last two results have set us up nicely for the coming home games, its not how most of us see it.
