66/1 available for the Derby. He’s in that and the Dante. Although if he’s to get to either you would have to imagine that Howman would need to make his debut in the next couple of weeks – maybe in a maiden at Newmarket’s ‘Craven’ or Newbury ‘Greenham’ meet, perhaps.

Re-reading the above I did, of course, get my Coolmore wonder fillies mixed up! Lillie Langtry is the dam of Minding not Found.

That fact though does put a ‘plus’ in Howman’s Derby column as it pleasing to see that he’s got such a close relative who has recently achieved Epsom Classic honours. The slight negative would be why Coolmore, who have had such success with the family, chose not to push the old boat out and buy him. What do they know or believe?!?
 
Interesting but not too surprising [as stable do not give much away], that no mention of the horse in the stable tour of Roger Varian in the Racing Post on Thursday
 
Not a newcomer but very interesting to see how Humbolt Current will get on Saturday, Queen's first ever 2000 guineas entrant i believe, and had a very good debut last year ,missed break by miles and finished like a train. Wonder if will live up to potential and win on saturday and go for the guineas

Not everyone's favourite trainer but a very decent man, Michael Bell has had a few tough years. Last year was a big improvement with Big Orange being the star performer. However this time last year he brought out a filly called Main Desire who won her first two races and looked a sure bet for Royal Ascot. Sadly she was injured and did not run again. Still in training she is yet to return but hopefully she will.
The horse, or more correctly filly, I'm putting up is Brelades Bay. Trained by Bell she seems to have done well on the gallops. By Footprintsinthesand she may have the speed to start off at 5f. Bell has had one 2yo to run so far and that was a colt Artair who ran 3rd FTO. I'll be taking some EW interest in Brelades Bay. She is entered twice this week at Salisbury and Kempton.

Hard not to see him getting involved, so Win at BOG 4-1
 
strange how lots of the more fancied / costly varian horses are not winning much , yet all david egan mounts seem to win or be placed , often at good odds ........
