The first 'invasion' of Southern Britain failed, so they bribed leaders down south by Romanising the children of political leaders so it became fashionable, and the lifestyle was simply integrated into society rather than any real military victory. The Scots had no society worth infiltrating, and it coincided with troubles in Germany that needed their resources.
