This has been discussed several times on twitter tonight but rather than repeat the varying views, I will say only what I witnessed from the Medway Stand. Although it is unclear whether this is the same incident being referred too.
Flanagan had the ball in our half and instead of going forward or playing the ball forward with time elapsing, passed the ball back to Nelson. I believe from memory this happened twice in succession. At that point I heard a few fans around me, aiming their frustrations at Flanagan, although I cannot say what words were precisely used.
At the point of the fans aired frustrations, there appeared to be some sort of hand or arm gesture movement in response. I sort of ignored it myself but in my personal opinion it did happen and appeared to be aimed in response. What I will say is what ever Flanagan's intentions were, I was slightly surprised by it and actually thought at the time I was the only one to witness it, so just kept my mouth shut. However, as is now evident from twitter reaction that was not the case.
Someone did say on twitter that Martin Allen had words with Flanagan but I did not witness that.
I hasten to add I am not personally expressing any judgement in regards to any rights or wrongs of what I saw.

Yes i witnessed the same incident i believe. I was sitting in the Medway stand block G and saw it exactly as you saw it brb. I believe his reaction was only aimed at one individuals comments and i ignored it as well as i am of the opinion, that emotions were running high for supporters and players and these things happen in the heat of battle. Dont see why some on Twitter have made such a big deal of it, in fact the reaction on Twitter has almost been like a witch hunt. Get over it and move on and support all the players is what i say.
He is a young player, younger heads get hotter than older ones normally.
I am sure a stern word from Allen and maybe some of the older lads in the team (Barrett etc) will make him realise he should not give 'fans' (frankly insulting your teams own player is awful) a rise.
I remember Fish giving the finger on his lips to the Rainham end when he scored last season, again the foolishness of youth but of course hardly anyone said anything as he had just smashed a goal in.

I must admit the players do get a lot of stick these days. Not sure what is the cause of it all. Maybe with football on tv being so readily available, with arrogant Premiership players strutting around like they are celebrities or acting like they are entertaining clowns as caused more vocal frustrations and expectations throughout spectators of the whole game.
