Spotted this, this evening, under the heading the most depressing football flag ever made. Whilst I understand the sentiment, they are a good little club and football needs clubs like Crewe. Come to think of it its not long ago - 1980's - when the same could be said for us

I always thought it was change at Crewe.
Ive spent more time stood on crewe station than I'd like to admit.
Its only about 15 miles from me.
For 2 years i worked in london. Its where i boarded the intercity.:emoticon-0101-sadsm

I did watch the mighty bluebirds against crewe at gresty road the last time we were in the same division (8 or 9 years ago?).
Also worked in crewe for a couple years and attended a few functions at the stadium.
Nice little set up.

Masky has been watching a number of documentaries on YouTube recently on lower league clubs...very interesting too! Chester, Coventry, Peterborough (bless Minxy), and Leyton Orient to name but a few. Glad to be higher up at this time, but we endured a load of ****e not so long back....destroyed Masky’s head! Careful if you’re clicking on Leyton Orient though...every time I get Oriental creampie....be careful and safe folks...not you Aber pal! :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool:

There’s a lot to be said for Crewe - my eldest was at university there and it was always great to visit her there.
Cheap accommodation, cheap beer, a railway museum and Bentley - what else can there be?

I worked on a business aquisition for a company and set up offices near the university buildings in crewe.
Some decent pubs and eateries in walking distance.
Supped a few pints in the Duke of Gloucester.
Within a 10 min drive of Crewe there is some great countryside.

I thought I was the Duke of Gloucester! Perhaps it's Earl. I get mixed up with all my titles.

Spent many a drunken hour at the bar at Crewe station waiting for connections when my job involved lots of travel. You're righyt abourt the town itgself and the surrounding area. Gresty Road is a great stadium for the size of club. Of course, the number of well known names to come out of the club is well documented. Great club,
