I suspect I've been invited due to my pie expertise.

If it's about food can you ask for the old hot dogs back OLM? Rollover was it? Much nicer, bigger and cheaper than the "gourmet" ones brought in the second half of last season.

For the first three games of the season the pies were already sorted (I think they're steak and ale), so we were picking the pie for the fourth game. We got to try steak and red whine, beef brisket, jerk chicken and red pepper and BBQ pulled pork. The BBQ pulled pork won by one vote, with steak and red wine coming second, which was disappointing, as I thought the steak was by far the best.

We had a dark beer from the Atom Brewery as well, which was good, though I'm not sure exactly what's going on with that. It's bottled, so no problem to serve in the corporate bars, but they can't serve them on the concourse. I think they're discussing some sort of competition for fans to name a beer brewed specifically for City, which will be produced in a cask version, but it's at the early stages.

The club are looking at doing more tie-up's with local food producers.

Dark Alchemy presumably. An excellent beer.

Plenty moaned about the price, particularly in the West Upper, how about supporting local businesses?

As long as they sell the normal pies, people will opt for them based on price - saw lots of pies in the east, none of which were from Pie.

    I had a brisket pie.£4.00

Compared to the "normal" steak pie, it was a far superior. Well worth the money, plenty of meat filling with not too much gravy. The pie pastry was a bit too dry for me, but it at least was tasty. I would now choose the Hull pie, rather than the others

They only had 200 available today, they're being staged in.

Personally I think all football food is too expensive, but the Hull Pie ones are way better value. Like TOM said, they're properly full of meat.

I agree! They are better value in terms of what you're actually eating.

So they'll replace the £3.10 pies in the end?

Dunno. I don't think that's been decided, but presumably it'd depend on sales.

A Pie pie is a beautiful thing. How anyone would choose the normal muck is baffling.

Interesting on the pricing. A Pie pie costs under 3 quid from their shops.

I could have imagined it, but there's something in the back of my mind about a post where someone said that Hull pie were not set up for high volumes like that. Maybe their expansion has dealt with that now though.

When they sell a pie in their own shop, only they need to make a profit on it, when they sell them at City, both they and City need to make a profit on them and City's costs are much higher.
