From BBC website Premier League AFC Bournemouth Arsenal Aston Villa Chelsea Crystal Palace Everton Leicester City Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Newcastle United Norwich City Southampton Stoke City Sunderland Swansea City Tottenham Hotspur Watford West Bromwich Albion West Ham United But you are correct, in the table it is just Bournemouth...lack of consistency there!!
In league 2 last year they had AFC Wimbledon first alphabetically even though they just printed "Wimbledon!"
Xmas looks "interesting" fixture wise. Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham then Man City. They are all going to be tough in reality. Reading the fixture list, I felt a mixture of fear and delight. Welcome to a new reality I guess! I´m wondering now if the squad/management can step up successfully into the Prem...their work is well and truly cut out now.
They are AFC Bournemouth - there is a non-league team called Bournemouth and there can't be 2 clubs with the same name registered with the FA.
They were originally Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic - they changed it to AFC Bournemouth but I was not sure if they had reverted - without mentioning the Boscombe bit - they never did previously
i always have to be in the uk for the 7th of sept (my mum birthday and its always international week end ) If i can get tickets then i can see 4 games in 5 weeks
Very excited now. The dates are in the diary and the trip to Everton is booked...! Now all we need is a Head Coach who understands the league and a team behind him raring to go! Fingers are firmly crossed!
It's true, and saw it mentioned yesterday - not quite the same order though. Would take the same results too; 1. Round 27/08/1982 H Everton FC 2:0 (W) 2. Round 30/08/1982 A Southampton FC 4:1 (W) 3. Round 03/09/1982 A Manchester City 0:1 (L) 4. Round 16/09/1982 H Swansea City 2:1 (W) 5. Round 10/09/1982 H West Bromwich Albion 3:0 (W)
Remember being top of the league for a brief while around then, too. Would take that this time! Just reading the list has finally brought the fact of promotion home to me- a bit scary, but what a buzz!
I was hoping to go to the Sunderland game, as my mum's dad was from there and he used to tell me about seeing the team that won the title in 1936 and the FA Cup a year later. Problem is that in mid-December the best flights for getting there are to Manchester or Edinburgh! I'll be visiting jerzeypie in November and probably going to the match at Villa. I have to speak to him first, but it will probably be Friday to Tuesday to cover the possibility of the game being shown on Monday night.
I assume the Southampton game will be moved to the Sunday, as I think they will have Europa league on the Thursday before. Something we'll have to get used to...
They have a round before but should they win that then yes... Sort of game that will be on TV I reckon.. BTW Cardiff away on 28th July. Bournemouth are playing them too... Clearly want to remember what playing Premier league sides is like...
