Should we feel sorry for West Brom?

Last 5 games...Liverpool (home), Man Utd (away), Newcastle (away), Chelsea (home), Arsenal (away).

    Looks a bit familiar huh?

fulham playing the kids, reading in limbo with a possible new owner, birmingham who are crap and a derby against a relegated side who have a novice in charge and will still be adjusting to the league...

hmm. looks like you've got a decent start to me

In the cold light of day, the fixtures for August and September make you realise that this is going to be a tough league to get out of.

I think this is unnecessary pessimism, tbh.

We have a very tough start (and I'd include Bournemouth and then Cardiff in that), but we then get a marginally easier run in September, after the transfer window shuts.

The bottom line is we are likely to lose players like Fer, Snodgrass, etc over the course of August. If we can get them to play a few matches in August we might be able to use their class against the stronger teams.

I've seen nothing to suggest we won't hit the ground running (and the converse). The board have sorted out the managerial situation early and there is plenty of time to focus on getting the squad together.

I'd be stunned if they chose Ipswich v Fulham over Blackburn v Cardiff or Wigan v Reading

yeah probably, I just based it on fulham being one of the relegated sides. either way its going to be a hell of a ride over the next year!

Looks like it's going to be a decent league.I will post a thread for Championship Prediction League and I will do a Premiership one as well if there is enough interest.

ipswich have a very tough run in guru. ours, fulham aside, isn't too bad.

rob, pessimistic maybe, but relegated teams who don't make a good start normally struggle to get themselves back into contention. equally, i've seen nothing to suggest we WILL hit the ground running. you may as well stick a pin in the league ladder to determine where we will finish this coming season.
