The first round of the Carabao Cup competition is set to take place on the weekend of September 5th, but if a League One club draws a Championship side in the first round, the tie could be played on August 29th.

That’s because the weekend of September 5th is an international weekend, a weekend which second tier clubs usually have free.

when is the league cup 1st round draw ? I hope our games don't get called off due to internationals this season either.

21st August now, according to the Echo.
confirmed by the EFL

Sky Bet EFL

As previously advised, League competition in the Sky Bet EFL will kick-off on Saturday 12th September, while the seasons in the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two will conclude on 8/9th May 2021.

Due to the unprecedented challenges facing the fixture calendar as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and starting six weeks later than usual, the Sky Bet EFL Championship will feature 13 midweek match rounds whilst League One and League Two will have 11 respectively throughout season 2020/21.

The season will culminate in the Sky Bet Play-Off Finals taking place at Wembley Stadium over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend 29th-31st May 2021.

The 2020/21 Sky Bet EFL fixture schedule will also be released on Friday 21st August at 9am.

I don't want to tempt fate, but . . . .

Sunderland A.F.C. have once again been named as favourites to win the League One title this season.

Phil Parkinson's side have been named 13/2 favourites ahead of Portsmouth and Charlton, to make it third time lucky in their pursuit to get back to the Championship.
That is according to the EFL's official betting partner,
Sky Bet.

They name the Black Cats as their favourites, with Portsmouth 8/1 and Charlton, despite their off-field troubles, 9/1 - a priced shared with Peterborough United.
The market changes slightly for promotion, rather than the title outright, but Sunderland A.F.C. remain favourites at 9/4. The difference in that market is that Portsmouth and Peterborough are joint second-favourites at 11/4, and Charlton then 3/1.

p.s. sorry for the link to Ronnie Gill :emoticon-0101-sadsm . . . . which I haven't looked at :emoticon-0105-wink:

I know I should feel excited about the fixture list coming out... but I don't

Something to do with the turd division we are in...

Of course we are favourites, we'll have .ore fans betting on us than other clubs will, plus we are a bigger club than the others so folk will just stick bets on us moreso than others as they'll think we'll just outspend everyone and eventually get it right
