My mates 6 foot 3 and built like a tank. Twice the size of me all over. I started working out with him about a month ago and i lift alot more weight than him in all areas.
Its suprised me and left him devastated lol.

You must be quite lean. After your earlier post i expected you to be heavier

I'm carrying about 10lbs of unwanted bloat at the minute. If I stripped that back id be happy with my physique. I'm not a bodybuilder at all mate, I mostky keep fit for my mental health.

Roughly 17-18% body fat.

That's what it's all about to me, it's hollow being big if you don't have the strength to go with it.

Ive always done the gym but Mental health is exactly why i go now mate. Its a massive stress and anger relief. I can go to the gym in a foul mood and come back full of joy.
I need it in my life!

I train differently to that, I do 3 sets of dumb bell curls with 15's for example and I'd be amazed if you could complete them effortlessly, moving from pronation into supination and focusing on the concentric, I get a shed load more out of that than I would hammer curling a pair of 22's

Strength to me is dangerous as it induces injury with me personally so I tend to keep it to a minimum

Terry, Billy couldn't walk up a hill if there was a chubby granny with 5 pints waiting for him

Billy could walk uphill for 1 minute.

He could do it for 1 minute and 20 the next time.

By the end of the year, with 4 times per week, Billy could walk up a hill for 1 hour no problem.

That's how these things work.

20 seconds extra, every time.

I just wish i knew what i know now when i was a kid at school. I was terrified of bigger lads and i used to get pushed around alot. Being a Sunderland fan didnt help either ha.

I got right into playing squash over new year and lost about a stone in a month or so. That was without changing my diet or anything, was playing about 3 times a week.

Did my ankle while back and put all the weight back on because I can't do anything.

I feel your pain mate. I had 8 months out last year after wrist surgery.
It must be more frustrating for you after finding a new passion though. Hang in there mate :emoticon-0148-yes:.

I got right into squash. Something i never thought I'd be able to even play, and ended up being half decent. Love the fast pace of it. Realise after 45 min game you're absolutely wrecked!!

Going to the gym is just something I can't do unfortunately. Tried many times and even did a good stint and ended up quite toned but just lost interest all of a sudden. No idea why.

It's bullshit how it takes so much effort to lose weight and once you're there, a couple of pizzas, packets of crisps and pints of beers later all the fat comes flooding back.

Easy come, hard as **** to go.

Squash is one of the top sports for calorie burning IIRC.
