Aye, I'll bet a pound to a pinch of ****e that they feel really Vindicated. As I said, a night in the cells, having to take time off work, and a criminal conviction to boot. I'll bet they take great solace in the fact that they got the charges dropped against a more serious charge -which they were apparently wholly innocent of - It must be a real comfort.

If it is a comfort and they do feel as if they have been vindicated then they are just about stupid enough do the whole thing again, or something similar, in the hope of gaining more of that priceless vindication.

No they'd probably just do as the 11 others done and be 100% vindicated next time

Outside of the atmosphere they help create, I really have little interest in the Green Brigade.

But, if that really is the type of policing that people are quite happy to see on our streets, then **** me. Their behaviour was shocking, and completely disproportionate.

Look mate what we have here Is a seriies of unfortunate events nothing more.

Police Scotland decided they would walk from the Gallowgate to Celtic park. Like they do for every home game. Unfortunately they came across a rowdy bunch of miscreant Oirish republicans who were blocking their way and a small stramash ensued.

Police Scotland gave them a slap and the Oirish couldny take it and started bleeting like a bunch of fairies as such types are prone to do.

Moral of the story? If ye can't do the time get aff the ****ing road.

A member of your family told you what happened so that's hearsay evidence and Hearsay evidence is not evidence at all.

Plenty of Bears will swear black is white that they saw no trouble in Manchester, and put all the blame on the Police/Council/TV repairmen, so even if you had been there I would be inclined to take your word with a pinch of salt. I don't believe for one minute that no one on that "Illegal" Corteo was acting the **** and that the only guilty parties were the Coppers, I've heard it all a million times before from innocent fans of Celtic, Rangers, Chelsea, Aberdeen, Man Utd, Liverpool and many more besides.

I'm not saying your family member is a liar, far from it, All I'm saying is that people who were there as part of the Corteo are more than likely to see what they expect to see. It's human nature.

He wasnt part of the corteo, and I trust him implicitly.

Dev, if a dozen drug squad officers put your door in at 4 in the morning, dragged you out your bed and flung you in the nick, Would you see that as the best use of their resources? Or a little OTT?

That's a false argument as I doubt Dev has repeatedly courted the ire of the police as the Green Brigade have.

Lets not pretend we're dealing with a group of innocents here because we're not.

I've already said the Police presence was OTT, but same as Venom said the other day, I've NEVER had any trouble with the Filth at a football match, not even so much as a voice raised in my general direction.

The Police were deployed because the GB were stupid (and arrogant) enough to advertise the fact that they were planning a march to Parkhead, they thought by calling it a "Corteo" they could get around the rules of unauthorised marches and simply stroll along London Road as if they were the Tolpuddle Martyrs.

As I said at the time the rules are in place to protect the Public, if we allow any **** with a chip on his shoulder to march in numbers around the city we'll have anarchy. I would feel no different if it were the BNP, the Orange Ludge or Celtic fans. The Police do have to shoulder some of the blame for the events but to try and pretend (as some have done and continue to do) that the Celtic fans were not looking for a confrontation is misty eyed romantic fantasy, the GB seem to specialise in this.

I don't think anyone is disputing what you are saying BAD merely refuting Mindy and his fairytale view that the Green Brigade are some band of altruistic freedom fighters/fitba fans who are being oppressed by a Police State.

I have stated numerous times my feelings on the GB (I really couldn't give a ****). But, I cannot square the actions of the police on that day.

    Just my opinion.

Without footage, or first hand information like you have, I can't comment on their actions that day in particular. But I have always found the Glasgow polis to be mostly helpful and friendly when attending Celtic Park. Far more so than Aberdeen or Inverness on a matchday in fact.

I'll never give the Green Bridage the benefit of the doubt. I was at the Barca game with that Bobby Sands banner and it was nothing less than an embarrassment. They couldn't give a **** about Celtic, in my eyes, and are only interested in their own agenda/enjoyment.
