Not a new signing but nonetheless the first, and it is ... Cauley Woodrow. The Club have taken up the option in his existing contract, which now signs him on till June 2019. Not convinced it means he'll be staying beyond this summer though. I've told the story before but here we go. A few years ago, watching an U21 game and after Cauley had fluffed a few chances I turned to my son and commented "he's just not a natural goalscorer"; embarrassingly to discover at half time that his mother was sitting directly in front of us. Haven't changed my opinion in the years since however. And frankly dumbfounded that his one-off free kick against Orient was voted our Goal of the Season. Maybe he has quite a sizeable extended family?
