Liverpool fans on Not606. Its was a full strength United. #Fact time - rafael, RvP, Januzaj, shaw, carrick all missing. Young, Fletcher and Hernandez started the game. all are squad players Liverpool played a weakened team Sold suarez, sent sturridge home. 10 players who started are likely to be considered first 11 players ( lambert the only questionable one ). so it was a full strength Liverpool v a half strength United.
10 of the 11 players are likely to be 10 of the players who make the most appearances for you next season.
Off top of my head Allen, Kelly and Lambert will not be making the most appearances next season. Hopefully Johnson as well as talks of us signing these ne w full backs Glen was bad last season and he's carried it on into pre season
You're hardly going to miss players like Rafael, and Carrick- are they even first teamers for you? Not really much of a back step going with others. RVP is the only serious omission from your side. Januzaj is a promising kid but he's not going to be starting most games... and Shaw was there. You saying Januzaj wasn't there would be like us complaining that Ibe only came on after 60 minutes instead of starting... both about the same level. Neither really starting material for a top 4 team (yet) although will be in the future. Lambert, Kelly, Johnson... can't imagine any of them starting many games next season. Allen is well down the pecking order now too. Sturridge, Flanno, Enrique all injured. I imagine all three will get backups signed in next few weeks that will be ahead of Lambert, Kelly, and Johnson in pecking order... Markovic was missing and Lallana injured so we had Coutinho playing out of position to fill in that gap. Coutinho is a first team player- but he is not going to be playing as a winger very often. He did for a while early last season until Rodgers discovered he is much more useful in a central role and not very good out wide. Overall- I think both teams started the game with a similar outlook. It was a decently strong team for both sides but not either team's full strength first XI.
Carrick will be first choice alongside Herrerra when fit and Rafael will be first choice right wing back ahead of Valencia so, yeah, they are first teamers. That might not be the case if sign a couple of players but right now they are. Who's this Ibe, was he at the world cup then?
You really struggle with copy and paste Christine, look at your post and then look at mine all should become clear.
Young promising Winger/Attacker very much in the Sterling mould. In fact he's prob right at were Sterling was 2 yrs ago Not at world cup, he's very young, 17 I think?
So, not at all at the same level as Januzaj really. Given Januzaj was at and played in the last world cup finals.
Januzaj has played in some PL games and has looked very promising tbf, Ibe looks very good but has yet to be properly tested in the PL. My money is on him doing very well though.
Well thats debateable, must admit not seen much of Januzaj but Ibe does look very very good for now, extremely direct and like a greyhound Januzaj has all gone a bit quiet around him hasnt it? P.S I am not saying Ibe is better btw
