Im not exactly sure what position Guly was playing today, but it suited him perfectly. I thought he and Lallana controlled the midfield for us in the first half.

I thought he was lazy again, but Lallana cork and Hammond all had a good game.

Don't worry, take a look at the following article I've just read on the BBC Sports site under the "Transfer Gossip" section <ok>

Japan striker Tadanari Lee, who scored the winning goal in last year's Asian Cup final against Australia in Doha, could be joining Southampton after agreeing terms with the Championship side, according to reports in Japan. Saints must now obtain a work permit for the 26-year-old. (Nikkan Sports newspaper)

The devil is in the detail, "must obtain a work permit", it shouldn't be a problem, but I bet it will be, we always seem to have that problem with the authorities, they don't like us.

We need a target man, a bit like Lambert. Not there to bang 20 goals in, but to hold the ball, bring others into play and give defenders something to think about. Along with this, we need an acute finisher, someone with sharp movement and an eye for goal, a young Connelly.

Rhodes would be unbelievable but massively unrealistic. I would say McCormack from Leeds would be a good fit, and with Bates in charge I can see them selling if the right offer is tabled.

Can't think of any targetmen at the moment that would suit us.

Rhodes can't be that unrealistic...he's a league 1 player, we're top of the championship, he'd die to move that far up, huddersfield don't look like they'll be going up! Besides, we always got on alright with huddersfield...

Rhodes is being linked to a few prem teams, if he was to come here it would be to partner Lambert. I think Joey is going on about back up for Rickie.

If he came, I reckon he'd start regularly alongside Lambert rather than warming the bench for Lambert, and I don't think him joining to get a regular place is that far-fetched...

Whoever we get in during the transfer window, it will take time for the players to bed - in 6 to 10 games perhaps, so we have to be patient!! If we can keep a bit of momentum going I am sure the Saints will really push for it in March/April. Look what the last 13 games yielded last year, 36 points. Granted the opposition is of higher quality this time but then Saints are a better team. Could we get 30 points from the last 13 once the incoming players have settled in and the likes of Chaplow are fit again??
