Actually a combo of Phillips and Bellingham would tick all the right boxes wouldn't it. Rice or Phillips would be good for that deeper role. Happy to concede I was wrong about Rice, he's a lot better with the ball than I gave him credit for. Might not be realistic however with Jude playing CL and Phillips destined to, plus at home town club. However it won't be long before we are bringing in these types. Bellingham makes a hell of a lot of sense. We want to be looking for a spine for the long term. Signing a GK, CB, CDM, CAM, ST makes a lot of sense too.
Apparently we're looking at younger players to build the club around. Going to be scouting the world for the best young prospects.
Although I would love them I think we have to be realistic. I think a lot of fans are going to be disappointed here. I know money talks but we won’t be signing too European talent straight away. I just don’t think it’s going to happen. Good proven premiership players. We are in a relegation fight after all.
That's exactly it mate. Walk before we can run here. Wilfred Zaha fits the criteria for example for the here and now and still could be useful in 3 years. Toney would be great too along with someone like maddison or coutinho.
https://www.footballinsider247.com/newcastle-united-koulibaly-plan-revealed/ For 30m at 30 years old. Can see this happening.
Yea me too, I tell you what, some championship clubs are going to get a few cracker bargains out of us. Ciaran Clark, Murphy Gayle etc will all have to be shipped out and I assume we won't be difficult sellers
Yeah you are going to struggle to attract those. I think its more realistic initially to look at the big clubs and who is not getting game time. Man U - Martial, Van Den Beek, Bailly, Lindelof, Lingard, Henderson Liverpool - Keita, Oxlade Chamberlain, Origi Chelsea - Hudson Odoi, Barkley, Loftus Cheek Arsenal - Lacazette, Holding, Nketiah Then you are looking the likes of Zaha, Tarkowski, Ramsay, Coutinho, players who have play of have played here and you might be able to get out of their current clubs.
