First one I can remember was the 83 Brighton FA Cup match. Always remember the whole ground blasting out "it's a fix, it's a fix, it's a fix". Incredible experience.
One of my favourite early memories of SJP in the mid 80s was against Everton when 2 things really stand out: 1) Billy Whitehurst literally shoulder-barged (legally back then) one of their defenders about 10 yards sideways and he went flying right off the pitch. Hilarious. 2) Beardo scored a goal and I'm sure there were about 4 Everton players left on their arses in the penalty box by the time he put he ball in the net. But I can't find any video footage of it online. Anyone else (with a better memory than me) recall this this one?
Can't remember the first one as such but first one I remember was against Fulham in about 1965/66. It might even have been the Reserves who were playing each other. Two things I can remember were that Johnny Haynes was playing his first game after being absent for a while injured (which is why I think it might have been the Reserves playing each other as that was how players used to get fit again) and I was in the Leazes End. Can't remember the score.or whether any one scored.
I thought your first one was when our defence was really struggling against that Italian attacker, what was his name again, Claudius something? I think it was the first time a defensive wall was used.
Been to a few beforehand, but started going every week home and away at the start of the 72/73 season, beat Wolves 2-1, next week away to Sheffield United. Won that one as well. Went to Sunderland in 1970, Newcastle fans filled 95% of the Fullwell end. Never seen as much violence as then.
Can't remember exactly, think it was a Chelsea game back in early 00's. I didn't start taking real interest in the team until around 09 and bought my first ST in the championship season under Hughton
