Looks like we may get slaughtered :D

Peterborough United entertain West Ham United at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday 11th July (3pm) in what will be new Hammers manager Slaven Bilic’s first game in charge on English soil.

Bilic took the reins at the Boleyn Ground in June and has since appointed West Ham legend Julian Dicks as a coaching assistant. West Ham will be bringing a strong squad for the fixture against Dave Robertson’s men and Posh Director of Football Barry Fry has thanked owners David Gold and David Sullivan for facilitating the fixture.

‘I am very grateful to the owners of West Ham for arranging this game and it will be the manager’s first domestic game in charge. This is a wonderful opportunity for us here at Peterborough United to pit our wits against a side that is full of quality.

‘The Hammers are entering their final year at Upton Park before moving to the Olympic Stadium and it is a very exciting chapter in their history. I hope a lot of West Ham fans join Posh fans at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday. The prices are cheap and it is a great opportunity to see some fantastic players at close quarters and welcome Slaven to this country.

‘Finally, I would like to wish the Hammers the very best of luck this season and look forward to a very entertaining game,’ Fry said.

West Ham signed French international midfielder Dimitri Payet from Marseille on a five-year contract in a deal worth more than £10m and Spanish Under-21 midfielder Pedro Obiang from Italian club Sampdoria for an undisclosed fee during the summer and the pair could both be involved against Posh, alongside established stars such as Mark Noble, Kevin Nolan and Adrian.

I think it is a shame West Ham are moving to the Olympic Stadium in a season time, another nail in football culture, for the benefit of the middle classes.

But great they are coming to your place a rare opportunity to see maybe young talent combined with some over priced pampers. Deals worth £10m football gone mad.

As for getting battered, passion and loyalty to the badge will always defeat the pay cheque, although probably not on Saturday LOL.
