First day of term

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Deleted......., Aug 11, 2018.

  1. Who are we all playing against today? Are you going? How do you think you'll do this season?

We've got Brighton at home so leaving in a couple of hours. Half our midfield is still recovering from injury and I'd have preferred us to buy at least one striker. I'm hopeful we will stay up but it could be touch and go.

Enjoy whatever game you're watching - unless you're a Brighton fan...

Walked up the boozer to watch United last night.

Place was full of Liverpool fans floating they’re going to win the league.

Playing Burnley tomorrow, rarely win on the opening day but hopefully they're knackered from travelling on Thursday.

Hate the fact we're not playing today|<steam>

  4. There is something strangely exciting about having your first game at home at 3PM. First time in four years for us.

  6. Will give that a swerve. Would be like watching Trump and Boris in a knife fight - not sure who I want to lose most <whistle>

Newcastle away in less than two hours. Interested to see our team as some of the WC lads will have to play I reckon.

Now and the next couple of games will be a good time to play us I’d imagine. We generally build momentum after about the first month or so. Still hoping we can nick a 1-0 today though.

We need to stop being complacent in our first few fixtures...it's always due to a ****ing **** summer of preparation for one reason or another.

Think part of it is also down to the fact that fitness is a heavy aspect of a style. So naturally first few games we need to get up to speed.

I don’t like the constant pre season tours though. Be nice to just have a summer of prep at home. Constantly travelling to US/ Asia can’t be good for us.

  14. I must admit I am glad we play you at the start of September as it's the best chance we will have of getting something!

Got a free period today. Home to Burnley tomorrow, which is a bit like starting the term with media studies - might not be too hard, but no ****ing clue what to expect, in other words.

Wolves vs Everton should be interesting. See if Wolves live up to all the pre season hype..
