A vehicle has mowed people down in London. Rumours it was people who were coming out of a mosque that have been hit.

I've always feared this, I'll be very surprised if this is an isolated incident from the far right now they've started. It'll be tit for tat which would be very messy.

Yeah it's possible. If you look at other Mosques with historic links to extremism and hate preaching or Saudi funded Mosques we could possibly predict where is going to be targeted.

Hopefully it's going to be an isolated incident. It's places people go to pray ultimately, like any walk of life they'll get good and bad people through the door. Can't be mowing innocent people down. It's Terror imo.

What do people make of this statement?

It's been released a hell of a lot quicker than after the London and Manchester attacks. It feels a lot more personal and passionate now.

I agree with them about Police stepping up security at mosques, surely they just mean for the next few days, though?

First two eye witnesses interviewed on TV.

First man said it took police 20-30 minutes to arrive. The second man has just said it took an hour! Don't know how they can be that far out, but obviously the police response time hasn't been good enough and needs answers.

The second guy interviewed has just got angry saying it's not safe for Muslims to leave the house now <doh> . We are all in this together, mate. Everybody feels like it's not safe to leave the house at the moment, and have done for a while.

Personally I think all religions are ****.
Now I've nowt against anybody that gets comfort from their faith, that's fine by me.
My mate Chill was devout Catholic which I never knew until he took ill with cancer.
It was just a subject that never came up between us.
The way I see it is that religion is responsible for more bloodshed & hatred around the world than anything else.
I'm not condoning for one moment, but understand these reprisals.
It was inevitable.

I get what you're saying but it's people that are the problem. Not religion. I don't actually like religion but people would find a reason to kill each other without it. Land, money, power, sexuality, skin colour, background, so on and so forth.

Religion is pretty ****. People are worse, with or without it though.

Yes, you're probably right Disc.
Sadly.

Obviously this is speculation but if this is a 'revenge attack' our world is a much worse place than I thought.

This is not the answer.

If it's revenge, plays right into the extremists hands. They'll claim it to be an attack, not revenge and use it to incite tit for tat and more.

The Mail on Line describes the terrorist as a white van driver who droveinto Muslims where radicak Abu Hamza preached. For a start it was not the same Mosque and why not just say he was a terorist rather than a bloody white van driver.. This lame excuse of a newspaper drives me mad..

^^this^^ my mate posted this on FB this morning....

"If you poke a lion with a stick for long enough, eventually it will bite back."

I can understand emotions are running high, but retaliation is not the answer.
