To say they had 76 teams (excludes the amateur leagues) currently playing as normal done well for it to get so far without a postponement.

Not yet , they have to vote on it we need 14 teams in premier league to agree to it

Just watching Sky News at 10 and the sport headline was that the FA have ruled this season will not be cancelled. Waiting for them to get to the story now....

I’ve watched it twice already. Makes it very clear season will be finished in some form, may not be on the field but won’t be voided and there will be three teams relegated so all good for us so far

It’s highly unlikely as top three in championship would go up if no more games. As were 11 ahead of fourth place, three wins would see us home

it might be 2 going up as the top 2 are definately in automatic promotion places and 3 could still come down relegated at end of premier league season then there would be 19 teams in premier league next season

If Championship isn't completed which feels increasingly likely, obviously Leeds and West Brom would be 2. Would you promote 3rd or in the spirit of the competition maybe you could conduct a draw to see who wins the playoffs. After all they are said to be a lottery.

Although if the prem does restart mid June and football League doesn't if towards end of the Prem season everything is going fine, you could easily arrange for the playoffs to be played out end of July. The football League would just have to make that clear whenever a decision is made with the regular season.

Parry has said Champuonship has to finish by end of July so can’t see there being playoffs likely by then. But maybe they could. God forbid we’d be in those damn things as we know how that’d go

Was thinking more if the season gets called early and they settle on as it stands. 3rd as we know from last season doesn't guarantee you entry into the PL, so by at least doing the playoffs in a couple of weeks would be less controversial. Fulham may not see it that way.

Still a mess though at the bottom of the Championship though.

Well usually it is , but these are not normal times , i dont think there will be anymore championship games so the only way 3 up would work without doing play offs i to accept the top 3 up that would be leeds as champions , west brom , and fulham and that would be against what the rules were at start of season so dont think that would work , they could when no more games in championship and when premiership games are finished , promote the 2 automatic places that are there now , and then wait till about end of july and the teams in 3rd , 4th , 5th , and 6th now do the play offs at end of july when virus situation is better , this is probably nearerto what could happen if it does and the premier league restarts to a finish with 3 teams relegated and no more championship games this season as soon as this happens with the FA and premier league clubs agreeing , leeds are promoted without playing another match that could happen by end of may .

I’ve been reading the thoughts of several rugby players commenting on the return to training, they’re all excited, they’re all itching to get playing, what a different breed to football players.

Rugby depends almost entirely on gate receipts. Suspect players know its up to them to build up the sport again as their livelihoods are at stake. The spoilt pl Prima Donna’s think their futures are safeguarded

The NRL, Rugby League, starts here on 28th May. The players have been back in training for about a week. The AFL is likely to start in June.
