Yes that crossed my mind as well. The bidding process was all a charade. The decisions had already been taken behind closed doors but it didn't stop the ExCo members from receiving their 'gifts' from the competing bidders.
Like dyke said the tv companies aint made a whimper I think GB, Germany,USA Spain and Italy are the big payers here
Determination of TV broadcasting rights is a bidding process as well - no doubt even more corrupt as the process to decide the host country as we're talking hundreds of millions of dollars in this case.
Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ BREAKING: Police searching headquarters of German FA in connection with awarding of 2006 World Cup.
Sepp Blatter reported to have a suffered a 'medical incident' in Switzerland. He's got the sxxts worrying about where he'll end up. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-suffers-medical-incident-in-Switzerland.html
If he's going to shuffle off this mortal coil I can only hope that he serves time first in a 6' X 8' cell, and finally dies there. Not that I'm bitter.
Head Of German FA Resigns Over FIFA Payment please log in to view this image The head of Germany's football federation has resigned following over a payment made to FIFA. Wolfgang Niersbach's departure follows controversy over €6.7m transferred to world football's governing body in 2005 - a year before the World Cup was held in Germany. It has been alleged that the money was used to bribe officials to vote for the country's World Cup bid. The executive is currently being investigated for tax evasion. According to German media, detectives raided the federation's headquarters in Frankfurt last week - as well as Mr Nierbach's private residence in the town of Dreieich. After an emergency meeting of the federation took place, Mr Niersbach told reporters he was taking "political responsibility" for the scandal. http://news.sky.com/story/1584383/head-of-german-fa-resigns-over-fifa-payment

He suffered what has been described as "a small breakdown".
I like, it's just a little unfortunate that he isn't convalescing in a prison hospital wing. Hopefully that will come.
james menzies @jamesmenzies1 Sepp Blatter is in hospital with a temperature of 39 degrees, or as he described it, the perfect temperature for playing football.
I haven't come across anybody with a good word to say about this bloke but regardless of what he may or may not have done I have no particular desire to see him in any of our RIP threads.
He's clawed his way to the top by bribery and corruption. I'm a mild mannered man and it takes a lot for me to detest someone . But he's an 'orrible little ****.
I'd probably be dancing if he was on an RIP thread. He's a detestable **** who deserves no sympathy. Same with Piers Morgan, the Übercunt.
Sepp Blatter burnt on the bonfire in Edenbridge-Kent last week. Sadly it was not the real thing. He is one bloke I wont be upset to see die.
What like bribery, corruption and being happy to give a WC to a nation that is well known for it awful worker human rights violations thus wilfully knowing the building work will be on the back of workers deaths. You mean that kind of thing?
