With all the games we have still to play, I just can't see us anywhere but 5th. Still Bluemoon 2 rarely gets it wrong, so I'll cross my fingers and hope.
CP-The only factors I didn't feed into my rationale , was our additional matchload and unforseeable injuries to all clubs players! We have a large and talented squad with only David Luiz missing at the moment! Still --its a funny old game as they say--so I'm getting prepared to receive lots of big wet raspberries in a fortnights time!
Not from me. Like me, you seem to try and give a positive, considered view, not just an emotional one. And without pissing in your pocket, you're right, our schedule is our greatest enemy. David Luiz only one missing, excuse that I'm 20,000 mms away, but last I heard Drogba was a casualty ??
Thanks CP. I wonder if the Drogs business may be a little bit of pre match psychology! The lad can be a bit theatrical at times! I shall update myself on CTV's Blues News tonight!
Beat Newcastle and we can step right into 4th on goal difference provided the spuds result stays like this! We also would move within 2 points of le Arse! Not bad at all!
I have a feeling Blackburn will have been relegated by the time our game comes around, so that might help us a bit. Newcastle will be tough but I think we'll squeeze through. My biggest worry is Liverpool. It'd almost be better for us to lose the cup final as if we win it might give their players that little bit more motivation to beat us in the league game. Tottenham, I expect them to beat Blackburn (currently leading 1-0) but Bolton will I think be a tricky tie for them and probably our best chance of getting ahead of them. I'm predicting 7 points for Chelsea out of our three games. Goal difference could be crucial, so good thing we added 5 to our goal difference today.
Well it's all happened this weekend hasn't it! Torres hattrick Liverpool win Tottenham win Newcastle lose Wolves get a point Craziness!
If we win all three games I'm not ruling out 3rd. All it would need is Arsenal to draw at WBA and it could happen. Arsenal are not yet guaranteed 3rd although they should get it. If Spuds begin to pick up form it really is squeaky bum time for Arsenal should they fail to beat Norwich. That point yesterday was massive though, if Arsenal had lost that they might have still finished outside the top 4.
Agree, I won't be convinced by Spurs unless they pick up an emphatic win at Bolton, not taking them seriously until then. If Bolton beat them and we beat Newcastle then it's all over IMO, all we'd need to do is not lose at Anfield as 12 out of the 17 thus far have done and beat Blackburn then 4th would be guaranteed.
Can't see arsenal losing points to wba. They will be on the beach and probably without a manager by then. Norwich are only hope
Unfortunately, Liverpool always raise their game against us and if we win the cup final it could add an extra dimension to it. I think we need at least a point from this game and I'm confident we can win the others.
They caught as at a bad time in the last 2 games but now the roles are reversed and we are playing full of confidence and they aren't. I fully expect us to win the league encounter and am quietly confident we will win the FA Cup too.
