Completely unwarranted abuse but I'll go on.

Okay - no South Americans. I'm surprised, but okay. The main thrust is that Ajax fans will love the players that are destined to leave. This is still true.

Sorry if you're having a bad day, but please consider reading thoroughly and understand the main issues in a post before insulting others.

EDIT: Mixed the South Americans up with a report I was reading about Sporting and Porto earlier today <doh>

Unwarrented or not, but English making assumptions about the Dutch League have been pissing me off lately, it's not just today, it's been since i've been active here on this forum. I see so much bullshit flying around here on Not606 about the Dutch league that it getting more and more annoying. Saying it's a poor league whilst dozens of former Eredivisie players are currently playeing in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, Portugal and you name it, but no it's still an amateuristic league that isn't worth any of your attention. And you've said that you've watched Eredivisie matches. I bet it was Ajax - feyenoord or the ajax - fc twente match of 2011 for the championship, but i know for certain that you don't remember anything of it, not enough to judge an entire competition on, like you did in your first post.

    The English making assumptions?

News flash - I'm not English, and that was an assumption!

Those players are now in England, Spain etc because it's a poor league. You can't look at a dog and say that's not a dog because that's not what a dog looks like (one of my favourite phrases btw).

Predictably I've seen Ajax a fair few times and PSV also. I like how Ajax play, the fluidity and passing is good.

No reason to act aggressively, life's too short.

Correction then: Brittish, or if that offends you, Irish, i don't give a rats something.

And if the league was poor, why do all the EPL clubs line up for them? If it was such a poor league they couldn't cope with the gigantic high level the EPL is on.

    Dream on.

On the picture - what is OP? If you can't answer that, well, you shouldn't be using that picture.

You can't lecture others on assumptions then assume things yourself; pedantic I know but it's true.

Because they can, because they know players will want to move on, and they know that money will stretch further. It's poor because the best players don't stay.

Owen aside, it means we had American owners that nearly destroyed the club!

But yes, the past few years have been bad because our best players have been sold off (Alonso, Masch, Arbeloa) or have left.

... But this has nothing to do with the thread or indeed the comment you quoted.

Of course it does... It exposes the subjectivity you've imposed on the quality of teams from the dutch league <ok>. One thing is certain, as Cove has mentioned and you've ignorantly ignored, the Dutch teams consistently produce good players, which satisfactorily disposes of your assertions. Whether they then go on to leave or not is of little consequence, because producing good players means good competition, and quite frankly I trust someone who actually bothers to watch matches to give a better informed summary, than a poser, no offence <biggrin>

Anita to me looks a decent player, reckon he'd fit in well with our squad.

You didn't expose anything mate, they're completely different questions, and I also gave an objective answer <ok> Also, it was hardly subtle that that's what you were getting at - plus I expected someone to point it out in a humour way.

I didn't 'ignorantly ignore' it, it's a pretty obvious statement. Everyone knows the Dutch league consistently produces good players. I'm not doubting his knowledge of Dutch football, either, I just disagree with his appraisal of its standard.

That was a waste of your time, wasn't it.

By that standard the EPL and Bundesliga are **** aswell!

Arsenal for example: Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy, Van Persie...
    Spurs: Modric, berbatov, Kranjcar, Corluka,
    ManU: Ronaldo, Pique, Heinze, Rossi,
    Chelsea: Zhirkov, Carvalho, Bridge,
    Borussia Dortmund: Kagawa, Barrios, Sahin,
    Werder Bremen: Mertesacker, Özil, Marin,

He's talking ****, he got called on it, ignorantly still pushes on his arguments that don't hold up.

When have you ever replied to me? Genuinely unsure. I think I'd remember your particular brand of... insightful contribution.

Hardly all players that the teams were gutted to lose...

What did I get 'called out', as you so childishly put it on?

I was wrong about South American talents, which I held my hands up to as soon as you pointed it out.

Do you really want to twist logic around to argue that the Dutch league is on a parlance with the major European leagues?

But, to be honest, if you can only talk in an abusive manner it's no wonder that you can't have a reasonable discussion. Enjoy what's left of your day <ok>

    <laugh>

I board(/bored) hop frequently, and know of you (with as much respect as I can muster) as a blithering idiot who also board hops and posts generally ignorant comments to infuriate the locals... You always amuse me with your "I know much" schtick though, so kudos.

You're argument here is very flawed by every possible design that I'm charging you for making me split my pants with laughter!!! You can't weigh in with anything when every "fact" you possess so erroneous... You know beggar all of the Dutch league.

    Cove... Back on topic.

If you had 10 euro... And had to put it on one player from the Dutch league joining the Toon... Who would you pick?

    ACS, Cove humped him <yikes>

He'd only get a draw or win out of this if he supported Chelsea...

And I think Leroy Fer looked decent when I last saw him... Believe he plays for Twente now
