I think it's a better film than Kane. A touch of Evil is in the mix as well.

All three are excellent though.

I wonder what the reaction would be if Shaft or Django were played by a white actor.

The stink caused by a non Jewish actor playing a famous American composer recently was something to behold considering the mordern day penchant for filling historical drama with race inappropriate cast members. Diversity over realism seems to be the norm as long as it's not white people portraying ethnics.
