Napoleon 6.9/10

What a massive disappointment.

Completely lacking in any tension, suspense, drama, or excitement. It just plods along.

I like Joaquin Pheonix but he's completely miscast in this. And largely dreary and monotone throughout. You come away thinking Napoleon was a boring fckr but otherwise alright, where's the dictator?

Surprisingly meh from Ridley Scott.

Watch the new Caesar docu-drama series on the BBC instead, also 3 hours and about 10x better.

that's quite a high score for what you've described <laugh>

fk if it’s worse than that Caesar bbc thing I’ll not bother waisting my time on napoleon

cheers dude every minute saved from being waisted is a bonus

Not really Bobby, my general rule is anything 7 or above is worth watching. This is borderline, there are still a couple of good wars and some sweeping scenery in those.

I think I was expecting something a little more menacing from Joaquin, similar to his role in Gladiator where you felt he was capable of anything at any time. I don't think you come away from this movie knowing any more about Napoleon the dictator.

Oh and the other thing that held that rating was Vanessa Kirby, she's hot af :emoticon-0152-heart

can you tell me about it so I don’t have to watch it <laugh>
This is the only multi series i've started and finished and then i did it again.
Sucky description is a bit bare and i would say it is 4 series examining differing aspects of the illegal drug trade in USA with the work of a specialist Police unit linking the series together .

Just watch it basically .

The retirement plan with Nicolas cage

The clues in the title Nick

3/10 and only cos i laughed like 3 times

First was excellent. They've got progressively worse with each sequel.

At least this one wasn't all cheap CGI like the last one. Still weak though.

Ustinov ones all consistently superior imo.
I've never watched them. I'm enjoying the new ones though for what they are which is quite average but entertaining enough.

Wow I'm surprised. They may be 40 yrs old but still hold their own. Well worth a watch. Evil Under The Sun, Death on the Nile, Murder in Three Acts are the best.
Not a character that's appealed to me over time, think I only started watching the new ones because Mrs luv wanted to.

Was disappointed with the musketeers film 7.2/10 probably the best version yet but it tested the patience at times.

That's saved me bothering. Think I'm done with historical French films, real or not.
