One more to add to the Westerns genre ... Ulzana's Raid ... Burt Lancaster very good in the lead role ... ironically once playing an Apache himself in the film of the same name ... both films based on true events ...
Bumblebee reboot was decent but seems the new Transformers film is not great. Expected really.
Hypnotic- turned it off after half an hour.

It was one of those that’s ‘alright to watch’ but it feels like all transformer movies have a similar plot just with different characters.

I watched the first 15 mins of the new one, said to myself oh same **** again, and switched it off.

So, me and the fiance went to see Barbie. I thought it would be a bit of a comedic film with some over the top effects and jokes in the middle. It's certainly is NOT a kids movie, in fact, anyone who seemed below 12 had left before half way through. It's absolutely an adults film.
It's extremely political. It's about feminisim, the patriarchy, capitalism everything. It's about everything at once.
The first half of it is actually quite funny, Ryan Gosling is especially really good as Ken.
So, spoilers;
In "Barbieland" Barbies rule with an iron fist, they have every single job, every single political position and the Kens are nothing more than hot men who are purely there to try and impress and get the attention of each Barbie. This is commentary on our world, geddit?
Barbie and Ken have to visit the human world and there, Ken realises that unlike in Barbieland, here he a hunky, handsome and confident man can get ahead and people love and respect him for just existing. BUt Barbie, a sexy, confident and friendly woman, does not - she's HATED. Especially by other women. Ignoring the fact that the actor, Margot Robbie, built her entire career from being a sexy, confident and friendly woman.
Ken, falls in love with "patriarchy" and attempts to get a job. He enters a hospital and tries to become a doctor. The female doctor tells him no, as he's not qualified ... He then attempts to go to a bank, who tell him the same thing. Which, kinda tells me there ... ISN'T a patriarchy. Except, when Ken says "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PATRIARCHY" the bank manager replies "OH THERE IS ONE, WE JUST HIDE IT BETTER HERE." Actual dialogue.
The film is concluded by Ken turning Barbieland into the "Kendom." But a female saves the day, by listing a long, long, long list of things that sucks about being a woman and everyone cheers and the Kendom is returned to Barbieland. The final line is "you kens can have a political position, but not supreme court justice, how about ... I dunno, a congress seat?"
Again, a line from the final.
TLDR; Its cringe, don't recommend.

Spent a lot of time on that review. I'm not watching. It's clear the guy just likes pink.
We were wrong about one thing, mate, Margot is absolutely stunning in this one.
Her legs are unbelievable.
Welshie went full Barry Norman on the worst film ever made.
And after all that, not even a luvscale ffs!
